I'm not talking about the Hero-Terror rep I'm talking about your global type rankings. I went from cut throat to freebooter picking up surviors off a pirate ship I sank. I saw that it had an effect on rep but I thought it was the other one till I landed on shore. So what else makes it drop or raise.

Is that correct? Picking up surviors should make your rep drop. That doesn't sound right.

Are you sure that wasn't the Hero, Matey, Bloke, that you see on your character page? The one I mean is the one you see on the relations tab where you can raise a flag for a nation. That one dropped when I picked up surviors. Even if I had no space for these people my rep shouldn't be dropping when picking up people.
 
The Hero, Matey, Bloke, that you see on your character page is your real reputation. That one increases if you pick up survivors. The other reputation shows how known you are around the archipelago. It goes from "Unknown Freebooter" to "Scourge of the Seven Seas". This does not mean that you are hated.

Hmm it seems to rise and drop without any real reason. It dropped but when I loaded the game back up it went back to what it had been. Is there a reason this fluctuates or was it just sorta buggy? As I understand it, at least in previous builds your world renown rep influences the daughters/nieces your introduced to.

On that note. Once I was told to meet Julia..she didn't appear. Everytime I leave the gov. house the daughter/niece poofs even if I have spoken to her. Although this is better then a room filled with women bumping into each other, is it suppose to work that way. And if it is, how do I make the one I like to stay?

How do you knew when your world reputation drops or increases? The following are the reputations you can get in order:
rNation.Ranks.1 = "Unknown Freebooter";
rNation.Ranks.2 = "Unkown Pirate";
rNation.Ranks.3 = "Freebooter";
rNation.Ranks.4 = "Cutthroat";
rNation.Ranks.5 = "Promising Pirate";
rNation.Ranks.6 = "Well-known Pirate";
rNation.Ranks.7 = "Famous Pirate";
rNation.Ranks.8 = "Infamous Pirate";
rNation.Ranks.9 = "Dread Pirate";
rNation.Ranks.10 = "Scourge of the Archipelago";
rNation.Ranks.11 = "Scourge of the Caribbean";
rNation.Ranks.12 = "Scourge of the Seven Seas";
This means that if you went from Famous Pirate to Infamous Pirate, that is actually an INcrease. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
I've seen my "known as" rank drop by 1 for no apparent reason. Either it's a bug or your "fame" will decay over time if you aren't out there kicking butt and taking names. I've never researched it.

I would guess bug only because when I reloaded that save it was back to cut throat. I know that taking ships makes it go up as well as your rank with nations you have a LoM with. But I wasn't sure if would decay over time. This isn't a bug I would worry about unless it started dropping 3 or more levels.

As far as the daughters go. I forgot that before if you stand in the "spawn" spot the daughter might not show up. The other did. But they still are disapearing when I leave. Question on that though. Are they still randomly chosen from females in the game? Are all models used or only some? The reason I ask is we have quite a few really nice "noble" women now. Would be really cool if we used those and got rid of the scullery maids.
 
Something I noticed myself today is that this "world rep" seems to be directly linked to your personal wealth. I used a cheat to gain more personal wealth and I noticed my world rep had gone up, even though I had done nothing yet. The rep dropped again after I donted all personal wealth to the crew.
 
Mine went up when I got a promotion from governor of Conceico although that does give you more land I didn't get any ready cash from it. Since I also had done nothing special before it went up I know it's linked to that as well. I know taking ships effects it, but I'm not sure if this is tied to the LoM or not since I can't recall what the rank was before I got the first LoM. Does signing articles effect it, other then you would of course get more money. I know that it's linked to what your share would be. But I'm not clear on which rep they were talking about, the worldly one would make more sense though.
