Bartolomeo o Portugues - Quest not triggering

Hey,

Im playing the Bartolomeo o Portugues storyline and got to the quest „first expedition“, where I first have to collect some pirates on Jamaica and then sail to a beach on Cuba. When I arrive on the beach, according to the walkthrough the woman accompanying me for the quest should talk to me, but instead she just walks towards the sea and vanishes after a few seconds and I can’t speak to her. When I go to the jungle myself it’s suddenly night time, but no other things happen when I’m around that place. Tried landing on the beach at night as well but that didn’t work either.

Am I missing something to start that quest or might that be a bug?

If you have a saved game from before you sailed to Jamaica, could you do all that again? Then post "compile.log", "system.log", and "error.log" if it exists. The first two and possibly the third will be in the top level of the game installation - not in subfolders "PROGRAM" or "RESOURCE".

For one thing, you're using the so-called "final" version which is missing four years' worth of updates, including bug-fixes for the "Bartolomeu" storyline - one of which, if I remember correctly, is for this problem. You can bring your game up to date but it will mean you'll need to start the story again because the updated game won't recognise savegames from the older version.

It's a plain zip file so you do need to extract this one, unlike the installer files. The folders are structured the same as the game's folders, so you can either extract it straight to the top level of the game installation folder, or extract it somewhere else and then copy the whole lot into the game folder.
