What I now usually do is to add a <i>GiveShip2Character(pchar,"theBlackPearl","Black Pearl",PIRATE);</i> line into console.c, then press F12 after having finished the tutorial. That works. You can also do this to get another ship halfway into the game. Add <i>SetCrewQuantity(&pchar, GetMaxCrewQuantity(&pchar));</i> after it to make sure you have a full crew compliment.
