Limiting ships to certain nations

the decreasing hp would make it run out way earlier than you can make it to the island. if you do want to implement something like this, i'd make it so that your hp decrease with every level, making it increasingly harder to survive. eventually, you'd die.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Actually i don't want this decreasing thing at all ..i want recreasing thing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Right now i'm about to experimenting witch unique ship looks better in cursed state too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

Nah ..only corvette1 looks good cursed and it's not even a unique ship. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sad" border="0" alt="icon_sad.gif" />

But to cheer up here's something ..unthinkable:

A CURSED PETRO'S LIGHT CARAVEL! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/lightcaravelC3.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/lightcaravelC1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/lightcaravelC2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Sorry ..couldn't resist. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=223981:date=Dec 1 2007, 07:21 PM:name=Morgan Terror)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Morgan Terror @ Dec 1 2007, 07:21 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->looks like a teeny little dutchman. not bad, actually.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Indeed. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

I could try to do the same with Royal Galleon. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

naah, that's been done already. how about a war tartane? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=223987:date=Dec 1 2007, 07:27 PM:name=Morgan Terror)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Morgan Terror @ Dec 1 2007, 07:27 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->naah, that's been done already. how about a war tartane? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

LOL. I could try that too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

And yes the Galleon thing HAS done before but those textures were just simply PLAIN UGLY! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> ..way to ugly to be skin for a cursed ship. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

You're right!

Some textures do take the transition to "cursed" very well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I'll continue with this awesomeness in new topic. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I, will never play a <b>game</b> where you eventually die.

We're doing that in real life already!

Agreed I don't want this in game too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

It would only happen if you were cursed. And you would be able to counter it. But we must come up with some disadvantage to being cursed, right? It's not called "cursed" for nothing. But if you've got a better idea for it, feel free to post it. It's just a random thought I came up with in a few seconds. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

What about a curse of not being able to go on land or something Davy Jones like curse. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

That would be REALLY annoying. I'd prefer the decreasing HP on level-ups. How would you be able counter that curse if all characters who might help you are ashore?

That's the problem. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

ten years is VERY long in the game. i've never even played for four years, let alone ten. besides, your life would be sailing on the worldmap, interrupting with encounters, back to worldmap, save there once in a while, and keep on continueing with the encounters. plain boring.

I had another thought: Being able to set the appearance chance for each nation for a ship. Example:<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->refShip.chance.england = 100;
refShip.chance.pirate = 0;
refShip.chance.france = 50;<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->This ship would never appear as a pirate ship and has got twice as much chance of appearing as English ship than as French ship. Also when setting all chances to a low percentage, this ship would be more rare. Would be interesting to distinguish between ordinary common ships and making some of the really cool ships more rare. What do you think?
