need help for basic skinning

Guess this is simple but I´m completely stuck here...

I want to change the textures of an existing location (after some action, not from gamestart).

So I modded the texturefile and renamed it. With hex editor I "pointed" at it. (Same nr of letters etc)

Copied the gm-file and renamed it. Cloned a new location with this new gm-file.

Now when visiting this location I can see that the new texture is "taken" BUT there is a very strange, sort of surrealistic shine all over the place.

I CAN get it to work using the original name of the gm-file (& from it pointing to the new texture-file) but that will mean changed location design from gamestart!

What am I missing? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

with locations, you need to rename ALL files in the map, so location1_col becomes location2_col. savy?! I have the feeling that you only have renamed the model file, and not the others.

and YES! FINALLY it worked. Thanks again //JRH <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

If you add/change locations you also need to add/copy the Textures\lighting files. Otherwise everything will look odd and bright and it will cause error messages.
