New Shipyard Interface?

Ive just added one of my descr's to the wiki. How was it wanted? all Ive done is chucked it on there but did you want each ship to have its own page with picture and everything my above link to the sloop has, or did you just want a list with description and stats?

I think we can have a picture with listing them all together can't we?

If that is the case I suggest have them all on the same page except unique ships (ie. Black Pearl) where they are listed but are linked to another page with more information

What do you think?
 
A list on one single page should be good for now as far as I'm concerned.

Any particular order? Class/gun emplacement etc Also, I wasn't sure of whether to insert the ship's stats or not as this differs within ship types, but you don't need them anyway, do you?

Edit: Ive just taken a look at the page. nice job, whoever organised it a little better! IM no good at wikipedia, i need to learn some formatting skills. How do you make one of those boxes? is it simply a matter of putting the lines in the corrrect place in the text box?

For the modding purpose, indeed we wouldn't need any ship stats, just the type name and class,
but for completism sake, you can add additional information too.
If you end up adding more ship models in the same type, maybe add the range of some values that distinguish the type.
After all, one ship type would then include different ships and thus different values for certain stats too. But remain the same ship type.

Ok well ive started writing descrs (as u can see on the wiki) but i thought id get myself in order; (we agreed not to touch the grade 1s and 2s until a better rating system had been organised, hadnt we?) so i started making list of all 1-4 grade ships in b14 9. Ill start on 10 once ive done al the ones in 9 to detract from confusion <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> The ship names in peach colour mean iv'e already written desc'rs for them. I know ive probably missed out lots but here it is so far... in fact i KNOW i have because I only did it from a British port <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />...and now is the time when someone says 'actually, dj admiral; I think someone already did this and posted it on the board not so long ago... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> '

Also posted are a few SS ive done; not necessary finals (cos the Pennants mod would look lovely in them) but just to get an idea; I know they aint great <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Ive also got about 2,600 (no, im not kidding; i like ships <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) other shots taken of in-game play, many of them taken after build 10; of course, they do have the ui in them but what resolution is needed? Afterall, there are some really good ones and if I could crop them...

Screenshots look nice to me, though I really don't care for emblemed sails anymore.
It strikes me as being unrealistic, not counting red crossed on Portuguese ships.

For the flags mod, you can get the Experimental Mods,
which should be a LOT more stable than the Development Resources before.
There's no new ships added after Build 14 Alpha 9.5 Patch 2.

If you've got some nice screenshots of gameplay that we can use for promotional stuff,
post them somewhere and we can add them on the ModDB profile.
You know you can hide the UI with the F9 button, right?
 
Oh... and the person who could possibly do the interface work for the screenshots,
has been unable to do any modding work for three months and doesn't know when he will be able to get anything done again.

When i took half of them I there was no such thing as the F9 key UI hide <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> About 200 are from the original game! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> Idont think the F9 worked in B13 full, did it? No, F9 was a Build 14 Alpha addition. Useful one though. But you've got that now, so you can use it in the future. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Doober has done a lot of work on the ships_init.c file, including grouping different ships together under the same type name.
As per Alpha 9.5 Patch 4, this has resulted in the following ship types being all that are used:
