Reclassifying the ships (again)

Tested and the higher min crew seems to have fixed the problem. I also dropped the max crew to 95 so it is still a tier 6 ship.

It is a fun ship to sail in battle now. After spending a lot of time in the "dignified" Heavy East Indiaman it was a different experience to race over here and spin like a top, then race over there going up and down the waves.

Also just looked at the caravels and carrack and caravelR and upped their crews a bit.
 
Glad to hear it. It is a pretty decent merchant, though I must remember to finish its hull upgrade sometime. It should look just as good as the Light Frigates when finished. :keith

Anyway, what are the specifics of your crew changes to the caravels? Just checked them myself and they do seem under-crewed.
 
Well, let's see...the min/max is

Carrack = 20/110

Caravel = 13/78

CaravelR = 20/70
 
I reinstalled the tier system mod except for the ships_init.c because mine is much larger and has some changes in it that I plan on posting soon. Anyway, the rank numbers in the icons on screen are still there. What did you change?
 
RESOURCE\Textures\BATTLE_INTERFACE\ships_1.tga,tx, ships_2.tga.tx, ships_16.tga.tx and ships_32.tga.tx. They should all be dated 5th/6th October 2012.
It should be a straight replacement overwriting the old versions. I really don't understand why this shouldn't work properly. :modding
 
So do they now show up without the numbers in-game? No other trickery or witchcraft getting in the way, as we often find? :rolleyes:
