What if someone took a brig model, put a Barque's masts on it, and called it a Sloop-o-War? That would be fun, eh? Give it say, 12 pdrs, about 18 of 'em. This would be a ship that has a better armament than anything smaller than a brig, yet it is as fast as a lugger, basicly its good for those who want a good combo of strength, speed, and maneuverbility, yet they don't want anything as big as a Corvette or Frigate, nor as small as a Yacht or Barque.

I'll stay clear of using anything based on the Brig hull until someone fixes that "Bow guns don't fire" bug <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
Is that still a problem? I have used brigs several times during my testing and didn't encounter anything weird. I will test it.
Result: Brig1's guns fire just fine. I didn't hear any sound the second time I fired though. Is that so? Who fixed it?

Remember, I'm talking Bow guns.

Check it with just one target. With multiple targets, you will get the effect from port and starboard guns firing.

Go to first person view and manually fire the bow guns.
 
Nobody fixed it; I just tested it to see what happened. I went into manual aiming mode, pointed my view to the bow and fired the guns. I saw smoke, I saw cannon balls flying and heard the firing sound (the first time, not the second time). I didn't fire on any target though. So for all I could see in the short time that I tested it, it is working. But like I said: I didn't have time for thorough testing. I still don't have time for thorough testing. Ihave uploaded Sloop_o_War on ftp.
Ican do only rigging. Skin texture etc I leave to others who now how to do it.
Also it needs to be imported to potc in prope way, as separate ship.
Now it will replace your original Brig1. If you download it Please read README.

In same tread as Sloop o War there is a "Pinned: Pirates Ahoy! Public FTP Details".
You will also need ftp client program. You can load them free from net.But read Public FTP details it is all

Yes you can put Brig4_44. You do not need to extract it, it is not zip folder.

I'd put a Pirate color scheme on it and call it the Privateer!

Said that there was an error, either the username or password were wrong... Hmm... help?
Aye mate... looks like the HMS <i>Sparrow</i>! *remembers, a grin on his face.* Those were the golden days... my first command... a fine sloop she was. Not even Cmdr. Hornblower's <i>Hotspur</i> can compare to her!
