44-gun Improved Xebec?

I came across a pirate Improved Xebec and captured her. I then noticed in the stats that she had 44- 24lb cannonades; 20 on each side. The visual graphic of the ship shows only 8 cannons on each side, and a 44 gun Xebec seems a bit odd to me; so is this as intended? Are each of my broadsides actually firing 20 cannons?
