60 Gun Spanish Ship

When finished, Jack, is it possible to let this ship as a quest-ship?

I need one for the Cartagena quest.

btw: If yes, I'll do an original duel aboard her.

Very nice jack. Let me know if you need a hand with the finishing touches unless Armada or someone else wants to do the honers.

Very nicely done so far! A few things to note though.

First, it is highly unlikely this ship had a closed waist. This feature did not become common until much later. More likely she'd have had an open waist like these two spanish ships of the same time period:

Second, the galleries on your model are also closed, while the upper gallery on the plans are quite plainly drawn as an open balcony. It would be similar to this:

See how the upper gallery is a bit smaller and doesn't extend all the way to the railing, leaving a little room to walk around. The gallery on my Centurion model is similar if you want to pull it off the FTP.

Nice model examples! Off topic, KrisWood, I saw your beautiful work on Centurion. Did you by chance give that wonderful work of art to anyone on the forums here? I would love to see her in our games here.

Haven't heard from Jack for a while, now... :shrug

This week, I'll try to find another one. A modified warship (around 40 - 60 cannons) from the ones we have in the BuildMod.

This one could still make an excellent 60 gun ship of a later period, with a trysl'l (spanker). Although not completely accurate, It could very easily pass for a ship of the line from the 1760's or beyond. Such vessels would have been used up into the early Napoleonic era. This might be easier than making all those changes. I kind of like the model how it is so far.

She certainly is beautiful... I just hope the modeller comes back to finish and release the model.
It's a huge waste for his projects to remain dead like this. :(
