For adding it to the mod i think it will be more usefull if the second speed setting would be on the T button, so R for normal speedup and T for second speedup.

I'm hoping the patch will help with those crashing issues. Be nice to play without worrying about them. Or being able to just play, period, when it's crashing like every minute.

Though I'm not sure I would want crew on the deck, I think it would stress graphic cards more or require a faster computer? Eh.. just a thought. Could be totally wrong. But my game lags a bit already and my processor is a 3.2 so not liking ideas that could slow it down more, LOL.

Its funny, here runs very smoothly everything at max with antialiasing 4x at 1280x1024 , also my comp is rather old, its a Athlon XP @ 2.2 Ghz , sound card audigy 2 , 1GB ram DDR running over a Nforce2 motherboard brand Gigabyte, and ATI RADEON 9700 PRO at stock speeds.

I thought this specs sucked those days but seems still kickin some, was about to upgrade to Athlon 64 or even to a Athlon 64 double core.

My best bet about performance problems is the sound engine that akella is using, or maybe your videocards are not good enough, seems the STORM ENGINE needs lot of videocard power but not much CPU, so maybe its time to upgrade video cards..

STORM ENGINE rocks, good performance and very nice graphics, i think its technology is rather old compared to UNREAL engine and the rest of the newer ones but still kicks.

BTW I just forgot to give some credits to Virtual Sailor, i think is developed by a small group of guys but is very simulation oriented, the physics and visual of the sea water & waves is very nice, but i still like more the akella engine, i dont know if is a REAL simulator of waves and boats but i hope so lol

How is it going? do you have some screenshots?

I have lots of work right now, otherwise i would love to code some real sea waves simulator and at the top of it code some game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Just check out the sea waves, also the boat do react to the wave, but as most of the simulators the boat does not interacts fully with the water, maybe the boat moves realistically but it doesnt alters the water physically, to explain it well, in reality any boat moving trought the water creates physical forces on the water creating waves, you can mostly notice it on the trail of waves it generates at the back. ( Many people like using waves generated by speeder boats to jump with their jetsky when the sea is calm and there is no action <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> )

None of the simulators i have seen generates this kind of interaction with water <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> so basically the boat floats over the animated water without physically breaking it.

I know Age of Pirates is just a game, but it will be nice to have some ultra realism on it, like water getting inside the hull and the boat sinking slowly..........., will be nice to know also if the storm engine is doing a good simulation of the water & waves, I dont know if the movement of the ship creates waves when the sea is calm.

To make AoP more realistic talking about gameplay maybe we can create a mod to make the boat to sink slowly over the time depending on how the hull is damaged, kinda of adding extra weight so the Storm engine can graphically show the boat more underwater and if you dont make repairs soon then you will be lucky to return swimming <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> ( rate of sink must be affected by how bad the hull is damaged )

The first thing to try is adding more weight by code to any ship and see what happens.
 
will it also be posible to open and close your (geschutskleppen) cannonhatches wood by verry nice and cool

If I can get my head around some of the more basic stuff, I'd love to try to help you guys out. I just have no idea how I could help... At the moment I'm about to try my first skin in anything other than the sims/ the sims 2... All that to be said - you all have a standing ovation from me for the amount of work everyone is putting into this.
 
Ok everyone im working on the new setup of the supermod, im adding as much of the patch to it that actually worked and fixed something, adding a few fixes i made myself i managed to get a lot of bugs out of the game. Also in the new version will be the extra speed using the T key.

Now if anyone made new characters or dialogs for the jungle or fixed something and u like to see it added to the super mod then please email me and send me the files.

Oh and i recommend not using the patch at all not before the mod install and definatly not after the mod installed. This mod will have the good working stuff of the patch, and then some extra fixes.

Managed to get some extra fixes in, also fixed the name problem where it says shark, i changed it so it will be Sharp, however if u change the name in the character init it will now also show the name you choose, in the character screen but also like when u visit a tavern.
 
May I suggest removing the possibility to buy all the ships from the very beginning? Now with an ofdicer wuth the trade perks you can make several good trade runs with the lugger and buy any ship from the beginning.

Can you fix the severe understaffed crews of the AI ships when attacking a colony? It feels like a cheat to destroy or capture them.
 
Already fixed it, but i will look at it later to see if more fixes can be implemented.

The supermod version 1.1 should be available at the end of the week, so please all be patient, i will announce it when it's available.

If anyone did make any new fixes or added new characters to the jungle or fixed dialogs for the jungle then please send them to me so they can make it in the 1.1 version.

Is there a no dvd something tew keep out StarForce....or what?

the new version of the mod version 1.1 will be out before the weekend, simply install your game and then install the mod and that will be it mate.

I take it then yer mod comes with built in protection of some kind to prevent the reappearance of the StarForce stuff once I start to play the game......
