Could I trouble you for some closeups? From first person view mode, especially?

Hm... I wonder if it'd be possible to place a light inside main cabin. If light maps generated by game can "shine" through opacity maps, then I guess we could have lighted windows at night <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Do you have AOP yourself? Maybe i can put it on the ftp tonight or tomorrow, so you can check it yourself. Otherwise, i will make some more screens
 
Well, that's the problem - I don't have AoP (otherwise I'd do it myself and wouldn't trouble you at all).

I bouth AoP when it was released in the States, and I came on to this forums right after it was installed on my machine. Cyberops, big thank you, without your hard work I would have taken this game back for a refund <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> When is the Pirate Simulator slated for release? I be interested in purchasing it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

One last thing, I know litle about code, but if we can add ships to the game, is it at all possible to at the third rate 74 gun SotL? My favorite ship class of all time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Keep up the good work Cyberops, and I am happy to have joined a community intent on improving their games.
 
Okay, nice stuff Thomas. So what tools exactly were used to model the ship? I've been trying to figure that out. Also does anyone know if the masts are a separate model, as part of allowing a mast to fall?

Thomas: Could you compile the stuff you've learned about adding ships into a text file that would help other modders figure it out faster? That would be a boon to the entire community.

OOOOH, I didn`t made that ship, Kazeite did, the only thing i did, was put it ingame. so the compliments should go to kazeite

I played the latest AOP 3th update for a while and I'm happy to report that I havent found any problem with game stability (NO CTD) or gameplay (NO QUEST BROKEN).

Just a suggestion; I see that it's still possible to sneak into an enemy city without passing for the jungle.
I suggest to disable sneak icon, to do so change:

bCanSneak=true
to
bCanSneak=false

in BattleInterface.c

Just a question; I read in this thread that someone have problem with AOPSuperMOD.exe that doesn't run and the suggestion to update the .NET Framework pack.
In my PC AOPSuperMOD.exe doesn't work, but If I run AOP from the stock desktop link everything seem working fine, without install any .NET Framework.
My doubt is if I can see everything of AOPSuperMOD.EXE or missing something.
I see jungle, Bank, some unlocked houses, crew on deck in first mode view, brothel (nice video but just three, I want more <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> ), the new British Brig and great new soundtrack.
I have seen everything or have I miss something?

Just a dream, I see you are able to change the Blaze model, why don't implement a different model for each naval rank you can reach (eg. a model for Liuthenent, Captain, Comodore and so on).

I have ATI Radeon 9200 and unfortunately i wasn't able to run the game without the 1.42 patch that comes with the Starcrap. The problem is, this "protection" is messing up my entire system and it's preventing the normal use of many progs and CDs. I also tried to use only your MOD with all updates and the good old 1.41 crack but couldn't run the game (engine.exe error, sea.dll still seems to be the problem).

I was wondering if you could update your MOD so it's compatibile with Radeon 9200 and so I could finally play this freaking sweet looking MOD. Or maybe you mates on this forum already know how to run it on Radeon 9200 without this crappy patch.
 
giuliootto im not disableing the sneak because not everyone wants to go trough the jungle, it's up to one to everyone how they want to sneak in.

Also when you start with the link the mod makes, you get the music choices and pretty soon also the choice of other options, like if u want to play with the default game map, or with the expanded one which gives you more islands and other locations.


bonzo im still working on certain problems, but as you know i wont be able to do much the coming few weeks because of some rebuilding in my home.

Do you have .NET 2.1 installed? Mod won't run without it...
 
It would be cool to sail the black pearl online! or other ships, maybe it would succeed if piratesahoy had an own server. would be cool, to sink people online with Kazeites Pearl

If I understand well, if I don't start with the AOPSuperMod link (that required .NET Framework 2.1 and Windows XP sp.2 to work, could you confirm this?) but with the AOP original link, I play the game with the "default" mod setting, but the mod is fully functional as well, right?
I would like avoid to install .NET Framework 2.1 that I know has some problems with programs build with .NET Framework 1.x <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Does exist a way to choise the option without start AOPSuperMod interface, like a .INI to edit?

Really cute bug found with the Super Mod

Seems that running it will cause a different game - Silent Hunter
to crash
No not simultaneous play, sequential.

Anyway the first thing Silent Hunter does is run 2 .WMV files
Delete these and there is no problem.

Seems that .WMV files will run perfectly well when view through
windows utilities, but when run in programs they can cause crashes.

And yes, have loaded that codec that Cyberops recommends
(the full version and the full version's patch)

What I am trying to say is that some movie crashes
may be due to Windows more than AOP
Or due to AOP and its implimentation of the movie viewer
 
rupertlittlebear: I wonder if that might be more from the program we all used to strip StarForce from our computers, with that utility in order to download and install the AOP mod and no dvd patch! Cause I know for a fact, that like you, I used to run Silent Hunter III here but haven't for a while and I know that used StarForce. This will be a problem for some games, since AOP and stripping StarForce from my computer some of those games will probably no longer work

and the Supermod <i>is</i> a no dvd patch, you don't need the other one.
and you can get third party cracks for almost any game except AOP 1.42

I downloaded your super mod yesterday and it crashes after I save (successfully). I made two copies of the error.log file.

Do you want the files, and if so, how do you want them: attached to post or; privately.


Also, aside from the image of 'me' the player, I haven't noticed anything different. I've read the readme but am not sure if I must do some tweaking of config files or not. I do not have the NO CD patch so still use StarForce.

I have put Kazeites Black Pearl for AOP on the ftp in my map. I have put 2 video files with it, so you can see it sailing ingame before putting it ingame.
