    Hi!
As you may know, I recently started blender, and I thought I could maybe model a few (simple) things.
Anything (again, simple) is welcome! ;)

Taking quite a plunge there, matey!

I wonder if there are any NON-rum bottles that need doing? That might be simple? Ish? :cheeky

I'm done with one of the four bottles!
Not with the round thing on the front, but that will come.
    One Bottle.png
The materials I will do last.
I just did a quick something, now.

EDIT: I can't really find a closeup of the round thing... It will be really difficult to replicate, with only a zoomed in picture...

    Nope.
    Too difficult, for me still.
Isn't there anything without (much) detail I can make?

Or.... Install Unity and see if you can convince your bottle to show up within that game engine.
That is always a hugely important step. :onya

Sounds to me like you're missing the skill to make spherical objects. I don't know about blender, but i have quite a bit of experience with inventor and solidworks, and those have a tool where you can draw a 2D cross-section of an item first. You then revolve the cross section around an axis to create a 3D object. It's much easier than trying to model all the curves of a wine bottle in 3D straight away. Does blender have something like that?

I did make spherical things, though.

But I'm just not good with too much detail.

And I'm downloading Unity right now to try, @Pieter Boelen!

    Something like this:

It's not a perfect example, but you probably get the idea.

That bottle is looking pretty good mate! The little round thing on the front is the makers mark, it was stamped into or applied onto the glass while it was still hot. You will still see something similar on most modern day glass bottles, usually much smaller and on the bottom though. This is a little better image from a different bottle.

    That is in blender, yes!
The second part will not (I think) be as simple as in the video, though. I would have to add a torus and add a boolean modifier.

@Pieter Boelen, I don't think Unity is something for me.

I don't see the problem. You've got crazy fast internet! And with some HD space, which you should have anyway, you're all set. :cheeky

There are quite a lot of people who make models. But the step of "getting them in the game" is then skipped.
So in the end, those models might as well not have been made at all, since we can't use them.
Bit of a shame, no? :wp

I allready have Unity, and it looks even more complicated than blender, and that is saying something.

Yes it is, but I don't even know what Unity actually can use as 3D-models.

Unity can import models from Blender natively, which makes the process very easy. See this entry in the Unity Manual.
