<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> Black Pearl, is'nt she sopose to be friendly
when meeting her off Falaise de Fleur the first time?
Well, she was beating the crap out of my ship and I
had a hard time getting past since she is unsinkable!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

@Nosie, ref early Black Pearl encounter near FF. I've always thought she was meant to be aggressive to you - she was in the stock game and that myth is part of the town/villager rumours when you talk to them e.g.

"Terrible things are a foot - tales of a ghost ship sinking and attacking ships, impossible to kill its crew " etc - you know the 'gossip' i mean?

Anyway i thought it was 'normal' behaviour to be attacked if you see her -still i dont know if this has been changed in the mods or not? It seems a rare chance to run across her at this early stage currently(like when you first go to FF)?

You are supposed to meet the Black Pearl when you get to Falaise de Fleur at one particular point in the game. She's not supposed to be hostile at that time, otherwise you'd be sunk without being able to continue the game at all. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

well, the radar sais the pearl's friendly, but it still fires on me. luckily i have a nack for avoiding a rain of cannonballs, so it isn't that much of a problem to me. also, becuase the pearl is 'friendly', you can still use sail to to get out of there, because the computer thinks you're not in a battle. also, the pearl does fire at you, but doesn't seem to come after you. just take care not to sail into its line of fire, and your fine.

I remember seeing the Pearl at one point in the game. She was not hostile and ignored me. It's been a long time ago, so I don't remember where it was. Cool ship though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I haven't played completely through the quests, so I don't know much else about it.

well, i know she does ignore you in the stock game. still, if you know how to handle it, it isn't a problem.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> You are just to see the BP, as in the Stockgame,not get blown out of the water!!
What ship ship are you using not to get troubled by the BP?? The Battleship Bismark??
No punt intended!! The storyline goes like that you talk to the guy on FF and confirm that
you seen her in the flesh!!!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

well, i saw her at falais de fleur, at the right time in the storyline, and i had, believe it or not, a LUGGER! those french traders where rather convenient. i could use them as shields to escape. of course, you can also use the sail to function, as the computer thinks you're not in a battle, as the radar shows that the pearl isn't hostile.

i just realised something very important: there is a bug in the game that if you accidentaly knock out an officer with your fists, everyone starts attacking that person. the problem was that for some reason, neutral was set to enemy. the pearl is neutral/friendly, so THAT'S why it attacks you. the problem with the fists is solved in the build that gets released today, so if i'm right, the pearl shouldn't attack you at falais the fleur anymore.

The fists issue can't possibly have anything to do with the Black Pearl. The fix was a fists-only fix, because the bug was a fists-only bug.

If the Black Pearl is firing at you, does she also chase you or does she fire at you without actually chasing you?

i don't thibk she chases me, but she definatly fires at me. it does however relentlessly attack the fort at falais de fleur. just wait untill it's dust, and loot the town! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> this doesn't mean that it sails to the fort, it just attacks the fort if you go to flying camera mode at the fort.

I just noticed that the loot dead key is now T instead of O. Unfortunately I didn't change that in the Default Key Assignments.txt file for the final Build 13 release. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I recall 'once' in the stock game the black pearl lofted a few balls towards my way, but they otherwise ignored me and sailed away. It happened as I was 'too close' to them when entering the map.

However the second time I saw the pearl in the stock game it did not fire, but then I was further away, and also not in the line of their rear arc.

I think it just may be 'luck of the draw' ... hell, they ARE evil vile pirates afterall? Why WOULDNT they lob off a few balls at you just for the hell of it? Its not like they pursue you (not until later in the game).

As for the neutral thing, as pieter said, it has nothing to do with the officers stunned bug. I originally jumped to that conclusion too, but it was unfounded.

As for loot dead from O to T .. uhm ... yeah, oops. I did that when I set the REINIT key to F11 in the fixed control file, as Bart had kept insisting that loot dead should be closer to where most people will be using keys (F1, F2, F3 etc all being there too blah blah blah).

so it's your fault. well, now pieter doesn't have to feel bad about it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> could someone please give me some info about the new islands? which island is of which nation?(i'd rather not blunder into a gigantic enemy fort with my lugger)in case you had forgotten:

Guadeloupe=?
Turk Island=?
Cayman=?
Cuba=?
Hispaniola=?
Tortuga=(this one's obvious, but just in case)
Saint Martin=?
Antigua=?

I only found out about that key change after I compiled the final file. Anyway: I think it's fine to move it to T, because it's closer to the W,S,A,D keys I use for playing. But the controls TXT file is not updated to reflect that change. But that's not an important problem, now, is it? After all: The game itself does work properly, just with a different key assignment than usual. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
