I wouldn't agree with that someone. Goes to show I'm not much of a pirate.
 
i never agreed with it that much either, but that's just because i sometimes make rules myself.
 
I'm just worried about this 'fun' preventing potential new French people to come into the forum. I think I already explained that.
 
i have rarely seen someone french come here in the first place, actually. teasing or not.

You not seeing them means diddly squat!

People most often come here as visitors.

It is only after they feel the need to post something, <b>and</b> feel that they would like to be part of the community, that they register as members.

If they are put off, or made to feel unwanted, then they won't come back.

They surely won't register and provide you with info so that you can "see" them.

Have you considered drawing masts and yards etc in the top view as well? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

i've got nothing against real french. as long as they're not trying to teach me their language, anyway. i'm only against those buggers in the game. and any other pirate game with the french in it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> i think i'll make it a bit more clear who it's about in the future, although i do think that as long as they're french ships to sink, i will. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
 
I don't want the argument to last forever... but anyway : Morgan Terror, you must understand that even with that you can harm people. Some French people grew up with story of French corsairs of Saint Malo plundering English ship in the East India and overtaking overwelming English military forces, getting famous and rich and buying themself splendid houses back home. Other read again and again some comics like Tintin (didn't you notice <i>La Licorne</i> and le Chevalier François de Hadock in Seb signature?...) or Oumpah-pah le peau rouge... Other are pretty much interested in the French colonial attemps in Brazil, Florida, New Orleans and Quebec. Other could live in Martinique or another French Dom-Tom. Understand you are systematicly making fun of their heroes...
For my part I perfectly understand why you're having this attitude, in the original game the French were supposed to be the bad ones and you were formated this way. It oftenly makes me feel unhappy because that was an aspect of stock PotC I didn't like at all and wanted to withdraw (I don't like simple manicheist game with good and bad ones), and it's tiresome to see it's keeping afloat after all. And it's sounds too much like old British propaganda too me...

I have considered it but then you wouldn't see as much of the deck.
 
I also like sinking French ships in the game; it was even becoming a running joke between me and my nephew who also played the game. But that's all it was for me: a running joke. I have nothing against REAL French whatsoever. But I think now is the time to stop the jokes about the French. Latin-based, of course. Did you ever watch the deleted scenes and/or bloopers of Curse of the Black Pearl? If so, you'll know where that mayonaise thing came from. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

You should check the deleted scenes on the DVD for the rest of it.
