you mean you get a CTD when going from 3D sea view to land, right? i don't really understand how that could happen, as you are supposed to be immediatly transported on the island after you leave malcom. try sorting things out before going to sea first, like repairing your ship and such. after a day or so, i think that it might work without problems. i think that the game just needs to sort things out first.

however: i think i have heard of this before. maybe it really is a bug.

anyway, anyone remember where to find the boarding fix?

No I don't mean sea view to land. After speaking to malcolm, stormy start transports me succesfully to beach, where my crew and rowing boat also happen to be. Rather than go exploring on land without any arms, I try to get straight on the boat and then CTD. But CTD only occurs on Falaise de Fleur (so far)?

14/6 was posted to fix up things in 14/5!
14/6 additional to fix things in 14/6!
Now there are two 14/6, one is an update ( small file )
the other one is a full install (big file), The smaller update
goes on top if you got 14/5 and the big one goes on top
of 13/3. 14/6 full contains all the previous updates, i.e.
14 full, 14/1 2 3 4 5 and 6!
Looking at Pieters Site: He's got 2 Files there, one is
14 BUILD ALPHA 6 357mb which goes on top of
13 BUILD/3 and 14/6 ADDITIONAL 66.9kb, which is
to fix up things gone wrong, but creates more bugs!
As far as Build 13 full goes, it has 3 updates!
So too keep it "short" here is how my install goes:
Stockgame
Build 12 (install file)
Build 13 full ( Proper Installation EXE the only one)
Build 13 updates 1 2 3
Build 14 Alpha 6
Update to 14 Alpha 6 = 14/6 additional
A note for Build 13, I don't know what happend to update 2?
I find, if you don't have it, it does'nt matter! It works fine
with updates 1 & 3!

does it matter that i didn't install build 13 update 3 first? now, i installed build 14 alpha 6 full over build 14a5. the strange thing is, the total size of the game increased by the full size of build 14a6 full, while i DID overwrite everything. i have a suspicion that the original files should somehow be invisibly lurking around somewhere.

so, i shouldn't install build 14a6 additional as it has to many bugs, right? and i now have the same features as when i would have installed b14a6 additional over b14a5, right?

The way you're going could be ok?
The 14/6 full install should have overritten all the
files in your previous setup! I've you're adventurous,
by all means try it!?... and as for 14/6 additional, it's up
to you in the End!!!! I do have it on at the moment, but

I don't know, it was to fix things!
Now to getting stuck on Deck during boarding:
I think the culprit here is the Corpsmode.
It was set to 4. During boarding, looting the corpses
by pressing F3 ( this could be new,but did not check)
seems to be the problem!
When not looting, I get off the deck, when looting not!
So, I set corpsmode to 2, went back to my last save and by
pressing F12 went off again and had no trouble getting off the deck!
Corps mode can be changed in Buildsettings.h, and 2 seems to be
the best setting!!

I think a fix for that boarding bug does exist and Pirate_KK should have it. He'll include it in his next update, I'm sure. In the meantime I have another "update" of my own <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/pietersmods/others/pb_modifications.zip" target="_blank">here</a>, which you can try to put on top of Alpha 6 and which should also contain the fix. Be sure to check the ReadMe to see what other changes are included.

And on a different note: I have a computer with two hard drives (it's how the rich live you know) and I had a major crash and "no load" condition on the C drive rendering the computer useless <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> (NOT POTC related I hasten to add), needing a complete re-install to correct the issue, loosing all programs in the process.
Fortunately, I had copied 14 alpha 6 to drive D - when I was up and running again I was able to copy it back to C and whoopie ! it ran (complete with saved games) like a bird.
I mention this just to remind others the value of saving POTC, earlier versions etc. if you can.

With all mod enabled (except for compass mod that disable Battleinterface) and everythings working fine till now (I've started a new game and played about for four hours).

The main difference is that usually I played with autoskill mod disabled and real cannon mod disable, and with this configuration I have random Engine.exe Error (with Build14A6).

Now with autoskill mod and real cannon enabled everything seems been more stable.

However I made some fix to add at last pb_additionals that solve some problem with the game interface.

I am sorry to tell you that the boarding bug does NOT seem to be fixed in my files. I encountered it again yesterday. It seems to be triggered by looting a corpse after the last enemy is killed. The player is then supposed to sheeth his blade. Which can't happen when you are in the loot interface at that moment. The workaround would be simple: Wait with looting until your sword is automaticall sheethed and reload is enabled. After that, loot all corpses. If I am right, you should not end up stuck that way. Please tell me if I am correct on this; I haven't actually tested much.
 
how about sheathing your sword yourself and then looting? would that still cause the bug when you loot before your sword would be sheathed automatically?

Setting Corpesmode to 2 is another way out <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
