You can now set the game's options in the Options menu.

- <b>View Map Before Trade Quest</b> by Maximus
Before agreeing to take on a trade quest, you can now view the archipelago map to check if the distance actually makes the trip profitable for you.

The interfaces have been modified and now look even better. Especially the screen you get to see when you press the pause [P] button is really quite nice. There is also a new main menu in the brown interface.

Is there a legend behind that guy, Cortez.. Cant seem to find him on Google?

Ooh and btw i think most of you modellers are aware of <a href="http://orlogsbasen.dk/smart.htm" target="_blank">this</a> naval database with old ship´s drawings and even som pics of models. The english version is under construction, but the link takes you to the advanced search. Ask for a translation, if you can´t figure out the links.
 
It is Cortés, not Cortez. My mistake. See some info on him <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hern%C3%A1n_Cort%C3%A9s" target="_blank">here</a>.
 
-The game loads fine - Works!

-I´m surprised not to find the "merchant-military-corsair-social climber"-selector to the right during "New game" but a "Neutral"-window instead - works!

-The dialog with Malcolm Hatcher explaining the skills system seems to be gone, nice! (it was always a crash) but in return Malcolm is nowhere to find on the shipdeck for fencing lesson.

-The remaining dialogs has changed also, what a nice touch you guys gave them - they work until just before the french attack video and I go to my ship, then error message "<missing text>" show up in a dialog screen that wont go away until i save and reload. This happens only aboard my ship - dont work quite yet!

-When I die, I actually wake up either at the tavern or on the bottom of the sea - nice, works!

-There is no messing up in the toff´s daughter quest, if the case is I forgot to speak to the ladies outside the Deuwesant-embassy before the governor - works!

Did´nt get to play further - girlfriend is tired - will update tomorrow, but rest assured that this is a major improvement for the average gaming-experience the first hour!

It should still be there. Unless you really DO have the Auto Skill System mod turned off, which would also explain the lack of this dialog.

You get the French attack video on the worldmap, so you should not possibly be in a dialog at the same time. You start the <i>Strange Things Going On in the Archipelago</i> quest with them though.

If you load a7plus then you need to start a new game because the story line is different plus all the other major additions provided.
 
Yes, my fault - my autoskill system is off <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I´d better do a new, clean install today. Think maybe my libraries are a bit messed up from all my installations. Only this way I think real testing and communication on an equal basis is possible. Are we reporting to the existing bug-tracker or will there be a new?
 
You can report bugs to the existing bug tracker or just post them on the forum. As long as you make sure we know about them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
I'm getting really lousy frame rates with this one. Sea combat is pretty much a slide show. Land combat is pretty sluggish too. My kit will run B13 like greased lightening, so I don't know what changed.
 
That's odd. I have pretty good FPS in my game. Does anyone experience this as well?
 
Can´t find the original bugtracker. This be the place, then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I cant change my controls for first person. When the popup window opens, I choose the <i>Redefine</i> botton, but nothing happens. Not that the game is freezing, I just can´t press escape or some other key - the window stays open with no content in it.

Problem above solved. Restored keys to default first. Could then change the controls with no problems.

When I board a class 5 pirate ship, I start being stuck between the main deck and the cargo room below, I think its in the main mast?! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> .
Only my head is up, also my crew is in there. It is possible to walk sideways out of the situation, but my crew is stuck.



Shingen: Remembered to remove "memory.mp" from main library?
 
if memory.mp wasn't there when he had build 13, it shouldn't be there in build 14 either. unless it's in the download. that would be some bungle indeed. anyway, checking for the file is a good idea in any case.
 
where do all these file for 14.7 plus go!

there not in any folder it's just as mass of them.

Hi Bassman,

All the .zip files go in your main library folder, which per default is: "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Pirates of the Caribbea".
If your PotC-installation path is different, you can identify it as the folder which contains "ENGINE.EXE".
The .exe files (i.e. Build14A7.exe) should be installed in this library too.


If you follow Pieter Boelens directions thoroughly in the top of this thread and unzip the files from your main library as described, you should have no problems.
I use winace for unzipping and choose "Extract here" when I rightclick on a .zip file.

PS: Remember to read the download and installation procedures on the download pages.

Hope this solves your problems

I didn't see any memory.mp file anywhere, but it's definitely slower with this build then either B13.3 or B14.6. Can't figure out why 'cept out in a sea battle, when all the ordinance is flying is when I take the worse hit to FPS.

Playing at normal speed is doable, but some battles can take a long time to end, or the wind will change (ect.ect.),.. so I usually do engagements at x3.

Would I break anything if I turned off the particles for combat? I think I seen those options somewhere.
 
You would´nt break anything, no <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

The particle systems are optional and only for visual use. It has no effect on the game conditions as far as I know..

My system runs smoth after I re-installed the whole game with the Build 14 alpha 7 Plus(including Build 13 update 3, Build 13 Full, Build 13 Final etc etc) version on top of it. But I would´nt recommend doing it, I took me a whole day.

Other that this, I cant help you - sorry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
