Build 14 Alpha 7 Plus Full Version

Yes it did. I had a few crashes changing over though. The dialog screens are still locking occasionally, with the only way out being crtl+alt+del. Once I got my fps back it seems to be going as well as it should.

Has anyone noticed the the scroll bar in the advanced/option menu doesn't seem to work?

Any option for losing all the people on the bridge? They just get in my field of view and I didn't see an option anywhere to disable that mod.

Anyway, I'm having great fun with this mod. Thanks!
 
I hope this isn't a daft question, but how do you change your start ship with this new mod!?Editing internal settings doesn't seem to work anymore. Any ideas?

I have been away few weeks and just downloaded build 147 plus!

I notice the following and have some questions. Changing build settings doesn't seem to have any affect anymore or maybe I am just confused.
I couldn't start at level 35 like I could in build 17,
I couldn't enable evil stormy start and I noticed my flag which used to have 2 hawks on it now is a nice pirate flag.

Also a lot of the things in buildsettings are now marked true or false instead of 0 and 1, 2 or 3. Can anyone tell me the significance of that?

Finally, what little I have seen looks really good, but is the forum in which you want issues and problems discussed.

What I now usually do is to add a <i>GiveShip2Character(pchar,"theBlackPearl","Black Pearl",PIRATE);</i> line into console.c, then press F12 after having finished the tutorial. That works. You can also do this to get another ship halfway into the game. Add <i>SetCrewQuantity(&pchar, GetMaxCrewQuantity(&pchar));</i> after it to make sure you have a full crew compliment.

But you can manualy change it by modifying the flagall.tga.tx texture.

charleston doesn't work in 14.7+, when you go there either by land or sea the screen goes black.
In addition i don't see the new main quest either, it seems to be the same old quest that was always there. if there is a specific way to start the quest please let me know.

Another thing, when doing the original main quest and you go to falise de flolr and see the cursed black pearl at first it works fine but after you go into the city, tak to the dudes about he pearl then head back to the sea the pearl will attack you.

When you enter the town, James Norrington should come to talk to you. When you enter the tavern Cutler Beckett is supposed to come to talk to you.

Your above two problems suggest to me that something went wrong with your installation. Can you please extract b14_alpha7_plus.zip on top of your current game version again? Hopefully that will fix the issues you're having.
 
alright i got the new main quest to work and i'm at the point where you go get cargo from antigue and bring it to greenford, sell it, get gold nuggets ad go back to becket at redmond. at this point i get to the tavern beckett walks towards me but doesn't say anything and i can't interact with him.

In addition, Havana appears as blank when you choose Nathaniel and can select start harbour. Minor bug, though...

What do you mean by "blank"?
BTW: Whether you can choose a start harbour or not does not actually depend on your character model selection. It depends on your nation. You need to choose the red flag thing to be able to choose your start harbour. However, Nathaniel Hawk's skin is always set to this personal nation while the other skins are set to a different nation by default, but you can change your selection using the left and right arrow keys next to the nation flag.
 
so in addition to charleston not working, when your working for beckett and you drop off the gold to him the second time he walks towards you like he is gonna talk to you but then nothing happens. you can't leave the tavern through the door but you can fast travel to your ship.

In addition some other bugs i've found are with the ships decks. while boarding, some of the new decks won't work properly for instacne on one of them when you start on the first deck your in between floors and on others the surrondings like walls of the ship and the floor disappear.

Also while in combat the enemies hp keeps going up as you attack them. i know this occuered wit holder versions as well bu tit's still frustrating.

What do you mean by "blank"?


What he means is that on the colony tab in the menu for starting a new game one of the colonies isn't listed the slot for it is blank/clear
 
I really don't understand how Charlestown and Beckett can cause trouble if they worked for me last time I checked. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
Yeah, I unfortunately have to confirm that Charlestown cannot be entered, be it from sea or land. I, too, get the Black Screen of Death <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
Should I try risking my installation by unzipping charlestown2.zip on top of it all, just to see if this file is missing somewhere?

With "blank field" I mean "no text in the field". However, I did a quick research in the files and found the "bug" in ..\PROGRAM\INTERFACE\choose_character.c :

Case 7 spells "La Havana". If corrected to "Havana", the field will show "Havana". Weird, because the field only seem to want one word, but "Falaise de Fleur" consists of 3 words and works fine?
 
Pirate_KK renamed all instances of "La Havana" into "Havana", but forgot a few instances. I just did a complete search-and-replace and replaced all the last instances in my installation. I will upload a fix in due time. First I'll check that Charlestown problem.

Playing Build 14 Alpha 7 Plus:

I notice that pressing "c" doesn't put out the fires on board ship anymore. I am sure I missed something.

One of the crew in first person sailing seems to kneeling on the rail and is actually on over the sea on the starboard side.

In boarding, a group of enemies are around the mast and appear to under the deck but they are still able to kill you.

In the evil stormy start dialouge you can't get the spy glass and get out of the cabin.
