Cannons Versus Culvertines

I have two MOWs and one battleship in my fleet, I usually use bombs lol I only try to catpure a MOW or a battleship and sink everything else.
I love to get my MOW very close to the enemy ships and sink everything nearby.
;)

Har! got de blasting people mod,so when yer close enuff to yer enemy an give em a good broadside shot,ye see der bodies go fly'n everywhere :rolleyes: xD:

;) Argh!! Be that in da build, matey? Sounds pretty funny, say I!!

On dee question of dee cannon versus da culverine... me thinks dee culverine gave dee English a ~huge~ advantage versus da Spanish Armada. Dee Spanish ships were lumbering `high-castle` galleons, though... where as dee English used fast `low-castle` galleons dat could zip in an outta range, poundin' da poor Spaniards at will. In spite a ther' more powerful galleons, da Spaniards were at a loss because of dee inferior range of der guns and da poorer performance of der ships (In POTC, dee "English" galleon is pro'ly most compar'ble to da Pinnace - dee POTC galleon looks more the likes of the Spaniard).

aye.de ships in POTC are not historicaly accurate fer sure,
De blast'n people mod is not part of 10.1,search on dis 'ere site Blasting People :p:

I got this from Ellaybe site not for the weak of heart

Search in ResourceINIParticlesparticles.ini strings ...=
palka01 - ...=palka05 and add nother one ...=Lo_Man and... and you can see blast on ship or fort with flying bodies

and later in the thread Nathan posted:

open particles.ini
find block [geo]
replace all below it until next block starts with:
code:

[geo]
randomnum = 2
file = particlespalka01
file = particlespalka02
file = particlespalka03
file = particlespalka04
file = particlespalka05
file = LowCharactersLo_man

It works on the forts too, The real thanks go to Skull and Nathan, and the guys at Ellabye Island who came up with it, and then shared it here.

This, and the falling mast features, goes a long way to explaining why I am spending so much time lately playing the sea battles in the game. Prior to Build 11 I would eschew carrying chainshot, but now I will spend half an hour or more trying to outsail my opponent, while attempting to disable him by knocking down his masts before I bring my ship in for a boarding attempt. My tactics are, I believe, similar to Skull's in that even if I have disabled the enemy ship I will not fire grape shot at them, to lower the number of enemy crew members still on the ship, but rather I'll attempt them at their best strength. (No matter what the cost to my own crew for doing so.)

I think the idea of, "the more the merrier," in terms of the number of enemies to face in a boarding action, goes a long way toward describing Skull's, (and mine,) take on an enjoyable action at sea.

This gives me another idea; some of you may be familiar with my profound obsession with shooting at the sharks that cruise around the ships, I wonder if I can figure out how to add the figures for the sharks to this feature, so that when I hit the enemy ship, the boxes and splinters and flailing crewmen are joined by exploded sharks and any other wildlife I can add to the mayhem.
I'll let you know if I make any progress on this....
