A little question, i is normal that, after installing the SWAK mod...

I can go to the main menue, and when I try to start a new game, after a little loading with the skeleton head, I get a black screen and nothing more move...?

I'm using a fresh POTC with B12 european version (french) game...
 
It's certainly not normal, but I have not enough knowledge to know what might be wrong. It sounds as if it's once again some `Euro-version` problem. But since I have an `Euro-version` myself, I know it should be able to work. Does Build 12 work properly without the SWAK?
 
No, that's not normal at all. Usually that happens if your game is somehow different from the one that i wrote on (e.g. a mod more or less) Can you post the error log, then I can try to find what went wrong there.
By the way, did you download the SWAK&StormyStart3.zip file ?
 
ok it's the problem with the euro version i think.

But, i think that the new 73 meg one shot download dosen't work and that's a part of my problem. I'll do some test and send you the result. Thanks!
 
What is supposed to trigger the Stormy Start quest to be finished? Whatever I do, the quest's already finished when I just started it.
BTW: Somehow I ended up being called "Paul Baron", though I'm certain I should be named "Nathaniel Hawk". Weeeiiird! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

But it's still difficult to run the mod with the ubisoft published version...
 
So this mod will not work with old save games eh? I tried and the special weapons were missing from my inventory. The other weapons in the stores dont show up. Seems to work if I start over...oh well.
 
Say, CCC: I had a thought. Have you integrated your "random other nations capturing each other's forts/ you can fort capture by land" mod? I'd like to create a series of medals as `skill-affecting` items, to be awarded by the various governors... and if you made it a dialog option for a governor in a captured town to, for example, ask you to rescue the fort without destroying it (that is, take it by land), you'd of course be awarded some medal or other for your brave deeds.

What are some other tasks that could be awarded? I'd rather get `skill-enhancements` for killing off enemy ships than land, anyway... I have billions of dollars in my coffers already from my millions of acres of land, and it's just not of any use for me.

FAIK a reinitialization with "I" activates them. But that won't put any into your inventory, and you can get them only by plundering chest.

I plan to publish that together with the new Oxbay locations, and that may take a few weeks more. It will include fortlocations for Oxbay and Greenford, so those are so far the only ones that you can capture by land.

I restricted myself to those two towns cause I didn't want to mess with your locationmodding. Furthermore I am not sure if it would be good if you could capture and change the nation of the "maintowns". E.g. if you captured FdF and made it English there would be no French presence at all anymore. Maybe it is better to make additional small "garrisontowns" for the other nations which you could capture and give to another nation?

But the medal idea is a good one !

I like the "garrisontowns" idea. Now that thanks to CCC's location cloning we have almost unlimited real estate, we should really be making some new places.
I'm working on a little village that could be set up somewhere in the jungle, but it'll take a while before it's ready. And AFAIK Alan might be working on something, too..
 
Those fort locations are so huge, and so `little-used`... if CCC gets all the doors linked, they could be entire villages unto themselves.

Does capturing a fort automatically put the town under that nation's control too?

I forget in which thread I posed this question, about sending a prize ship to some port; maybe in this one. Anyway I had a thought, as for traying to make such a thing work. The interface could be identical to shipberthing, except that it would work while at sea, perhaps enabled by a special skill.

So... how might one create that skill, and how might one make that skill enable the shipberthing button while at sea?

Other question: I have something in the range of 6 billion pirate dollars in my personal account, where it does me little good. How do I change the amount by which I donate to the general crew account? It'd take an hour at the current rate of transfer. Or can we just add a "donate all to crew" button there?
 
Being a billionair sure is a hard life...

As for the fortcapturing, once you have killed a score of soldiers (very much like in a dungeon) you may catch some "important official". If you threaten him you can ask him for money, a peacetreaty or the town.
