Solved colored icons in skills list

The colors of the numbers in the skills list has been changed. I get that when they are green on the right hand side that it means it has been raised in some way.

I recently hired a pirate officer who surrendered to me and his left hand leadership and grappling skill numbers are red, but are the same as the right hand numbers.

So, what does the red mean?

For some reason, there has always been code in place to decrease those numbers if a Captain surrenders.
But we never noticed. Now you do and it is marked like that.

I was confused the first time I saw that as well though.
Only reason I know is because I had to ask the exact same question....
