Devil's throat

But EVERYBODY can find out. Hint: The best track is NOT a straight line.

no, but it can be a bit problematic when you find the correct route through when you're a few meters in front of the wrong bit sailing something that sails like a barge.

Ahoy Pieter! I think I found your path. Not a single damage on my lugger, using old foam files and not having the perk that minimize damages from reafs, and it wasn't really strait indeed, those turns were risky...

What could be done : you cannot use fast travel to go to a specific place until you first went here normally. But I'm not sure a lot of people would like it... Might be doable : on the main map you don't see the names of the places you haven't visited yet.

Might be doable; I wouldn't know how to though. But would be worth a try if somebody'd be willing to check it out. I'd like that actually; that forces the player to explore the islands at least once. Before checking this here issue, I never actually did sail through these reefs because I could just use fast-travel. That does take some of the interest out of the game.

that's already in the game, actually. if you zoom in on he worldmap on an island you haven't visited before, the towns and beaches don't appear. if you landed at one said locations, it does appear on the map.

I know. But we're talking about enabeling Fast Travel for these locations. We might be able to achieve it in the same way as the appearance of the worldmap names.

could be nice, yes. but do you have any idea how annoying it is having to sail round an entire island in search of some elusive beach you need to get to with a rickety ship you need to escort with a load of hostile ships around? *breaths in*

I'd call it "challenging". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

well, you have to remember that as long as we can't save in 3D sailing mode, most players would find something like that really annoying, as they're forced to spend a lot of time without a pause in between on something like finding a beach. imagine having to find a tiny beach on something the size of cuba! some people want to actually do something isntead of just waiting until the ship can go around the next part of the island.
