dutchman

someone already wrote it earlier: go to any governorn of any nation and talk to him that you came to speak about glory of "nation" or sth like that. if you are lucky, he will give you mission to kill pirate skeletons in the port. for every skeleton killed you will get several perls.

Sorry for digging this one up... but something is unclear here.
Ok, I prepared myself, let the Dutchman sink me, back on my feet now - and I know because it's written HERE that I need to go to Pearl Village, collect pearls to make him mortal, yada, yada...

However in my GAME I do not know that.
The last log entry I have in this quest is the one about getting cash and new ship, etc.
But who is supposed to tell me that I need to go to Pearl Village next in this quest?

Come on you landlubbers, you do tell me!
I mean someone must have figured out that the Pearl Village is next in this quest line - where you get that hint?
I just cant go there without my character getting the appropriate in-game hint... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />
That would be so wrong...

I was assuming it was a tavern rumor or something one of the drunks told you.

Cap'n Drow

is there any other npc i should talk to or is there something i should do after getting sunk by the dutchman before i talk with whiteboy?the dialog with him is just incomprehensible.my log just says that i met a weird guy who's half native and half white.but it doesn't say anything bout the black pearls

btw will the quest with morgan about getting pearls and attacking pearl divers affect this quest?

Was just wondering, about getting the black pearl quest from governors, do you have to have a privateer license with their nation or is it just randomly generated by them regardless of whether or not you have one? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />o)

you don't need a license to get the quest its random.my suggestion is you go island or town hopping to get the quest most of the time you talk with the governor. i get around 60-80 black pearls per quest.

This quest as well as most of the others suffer from bad and even contradictory descriptions and log updates. For the pearl divers quest I had in my log a description which says "I must trade for whole month"...
So it is just a wild guess (or read the forums) if you never were at the pearl village to understand where to go for the Dutchamn info...
... as well the Edward Law quest - if there wasn't the forum how the hell I will understand it attacks only class 6 ships...
