Favorite Ship Names

Of course she did have help from the Barham, the Malaya, and another ship I don't remember now. They were the newest in the British Fleet.

Thank you for the Rose graphics. I like the first one, but the other 2 are a little to stylized for my tastes, and that pinball machine is way cool. My main ship (as fast a ship as possible, fast schooner, pirate style) is called El Meurte Negro (wich should be black death, like ur ship kev) and as soon as I get a MOW I call it Batista, after a certain wrestler :p

I noticed the game locks if you name a ship "Blood Ruby"

In Build 13 and up, there is a ship type called "Brittish Frigate". That is actually HMS Surprise. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Ever since I bought "Tropico 2: Pirate Cove" where I could name everything: ships, inns, wench houses, brothels, taverns, smugglers dives and so on I've considered it a sport to come up with new names for each along a certain theme often inspired by the default names given by the game.

My favorites:
Lucifer and Azrael (a deadly couple of corvettes from the stock game - I miss them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> )

Currently I boarded a number of ships named after Roman gods so I've tried to keep the style:
Mars (Manowar)
Jupiter (Frigate)
Juno (Galleon)
Mercury (Corvette - I still thought they were as fast as in the stock game when I named it)
Pluto (Fleut - the default name that started it)

Edit: I have been wondering how come the pirates favour Danish names: Prins Frederik (the heir to the throne) and Zeeland (the island with our capital city). Once I fought a convoy of three ships all named "Prins Frederik"
 
"Zeeland" a Danish name? It's a province in the South-West of The Netherlands. Nothing Danish about it.

Point taken. I had myself fooled by the apparent German (Schrickerwekker as an example - or is it also Dutch?) ring to many of the names (and a dose of nationalistic megalomania <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ).
