First attempts in skinning

When it comes to the Navies... what have you done? I think I have British skins for just about everything... but no French skins yet. Are they the Napoleonic Black with dark red?

EDIT: The surprise superfrigate... whats that? I have Inzane's Surprise that replaces Frigate1, so I don't want to put that one in and mess things up.

When the Dutch are finished, whats next?
If there isn't anything planned, maybe ye could reskin Inzane's Surprise? (With Inzane's permission, of course.)

The underhull should be a dull brown/red. The stripe along the gunports and all the trimmings white, the decks shall be a dark gray and the interior of the bulwarks a sea green.
This is the scheme that apply to all ships.

You guessed it... the United States Navy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Rather than making new textures that overwrite new files, is it possible for you to make new ones. For example, rather than making a file that overwrites Corvette1, a copy is made and renamed to Corvette_usn. Then we can add these to the game without overwriting the British, French, or Dutch ships! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
I've already made an Inzane's Surprise reskin that stayed personnal and that i'vent released yet because i didn't have is approbation <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

An USN variant would be a pretty good idea <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Unhappily i don't know very well how to make new ships and i'ven't many time to learn that tricky work, Capt'n Jackamo had begun to do all new ships with those skins, not to replace the ancient ones but that was in april when i was more active, i don't know very well what all of that became <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Aye, he made an American frigate, but that was just the military frigate with a gaff/boom mizzenmast. Thats also the only one he made. I wonder where he went, he hasn't been active since the end of May. Exams? But not for that long?

Another option: what ships haven't been reskinned? We could find ones that came with the build 12 that we haven't reskinned and overwrite those. That would be pretty easy, as most of the new ships have been added on rather than overwriting old ones.
This gets even easire because the ships we should reskin are ones that usually aren't reskinned.

Yacht - Yacht2
Schooner - Schooner1
Brig - Brig2
Sloop - Sloop1
Sloop of War - Brig1
Corvette - Corvette6_50
Frigate - Frigateuss: Already skinned.

I'm pretty sure that there is at least one variant of each vessel that could be reskinned and if not, that the variant is one of many that we can afford to overwrite.
 
That could be an idea, but anyway i am not sure to have the time to get the knowledge for that, here is what will comme next in my irl

I've some free time until the 8th of july (beetween a party or two <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />)

then, i go camping until the 15th of july,

then, from the 17th of july to the 25th of august, i'll work for a firm,

on the 4th of september, i'll be back at school, far from my home, with probably many work in my studies and i'm not sure to get the net in the firsts times i'll be on my own with my own apartment.

Now my strategy : In the free time I have, i'll manage to give you the maximum skins i can considering i'd also like to make things with my friends before they go far away too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Then, when you'll have those skins, feel free to do what you want with it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

The 8th of July, all five we will take our bikes, with food, tents and all we need and we'll go deep in the country at 45 miles (70 kilometers) from our homes to go to my father's pond, i hope we'll have a good week made of fishing, walks, fires and partys in the middle of nowhere. We all want to have good time together after two years we spend to study together, we don't want to loose ouverselves later, because we'll all go in different places, one in Bruxels, two in Dublin, one in Lyon, and me in a little town close to belgium ... So we profit the time we have to do to make things together before all of that, that's the reason why i sometimes won't be often home to skin even if i've free time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Strange... I feel divided.
During the American Revolution, the French were our allies. We only had one scrape with them... back in '99... but that was only a handful of frigate actions.
The other half of me, the half that fights for King and Country, feels what many feel... bloody Frogs. Reminds me of a joke I heard (No offense to anyone here.): What's the first thing that French recruits learn when they join the army?

The patriotic, revolutionary side of me is the stronger of the two. I do poke fun at the French every now 'an then... but we are strong, long lasting allies nonetheless! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

The surrendering questions is also something dividing in the french history, France always had good armies, but that are always commanded by fools and old idiots, 40' wasn't an exception, A part of the french wanted to keep the fight from north africa, but that old b*stard named "Petain" signed the reddition, at the beginning of the war he had the frenchs confidence, but we all now what he did, he signed reddition to get the power... Fortunately there were a second part of frenchs (my grandfather was of them) who were enought courageous to keep the fight from london and in the Resistance behind De Gaulle, they were the legitimate frenchs and then the legitimate authority, petain ordered surrendering but he wasn't the legitimate authority.
