game cheats badly

1.
I send manowar away from battle, he goes - I battle all other ships but manowar hp decreases badly while not in sight.
No fight mention.I go after battle to manowar - it's alone but badly hurt.
And it was out of battle range.

I've even got it sunk once and I "go to" it (sunk ship simbol) and there was nobody. No shores, no rocks , happens in the middle of the ocean.
Probably the fish ate its hull while I wasn't watching it.

-----------------------------------------
2.Rats keep getting hungry eating hundreds of food and mahogny at once.
-----------------------------------------
3.Stupid suicidal pirates in very small ships attack my fleet of manowars just to get themselves killed and to damage my sails.
<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.Enemy ships explode(even if their only ship alive) only if I get closer, If not they live for ages.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.Experienced cannon crew, guns loaded, full ship crew, target aimed corectly , but they refuse to fire for tens of seconds until I do 180/360 degrees rotation.

And I do have a lot of luck, so this kind of stuff should realy happen less often.

This is bad.

Yeah that annoy me too.
It happened to me that 4 pirate ships attacked me right in front of fort. Fort started kicking their asses and logicaly they started to run. Two of them was faster so they disappear from minimap. Other two remained. This was in the beginning of game so I was still quite weak but i managed to catch one of them and i board him. Then another turned to me and fight between us begins. Then suddenly the two pirates that "escaped" reappear behind me and sunk me. If they had to appear they could only appear in front of me. But no, they are the modern pirates. They probably got cloaking device from romulans <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

It's because this things (which happens lot of time), stupid quests and monotony of game, I quit playing.
I' ll wait till somebody publish some decent pirate game. POTC, AoP, AoP2 is crap for me. I'm not talking about mods so modders don't take offense.

P.S. Sorry guys but i'm pretty frustrated and I had to let it out.

Using the built-in debug trainer you can turn off rats, which is what I did. I think they're an unrealistic and unwelcome problem. I wouldn't mind it if they were tweaked to only eat foodstuffs and not ridiculous quantities, but as it is now they are pretty much a broken element of the game.

I saw a button to turn off rate, but it also turns off food consumption. How do you turn off just the rats?

I wouldn't complain about todays dialup. It's not that bad. I used to download games on a 14K baud modem. You don't have to hold your breath and stare at it. Just fire it up at night and go to sleep.

AoP2 is an amazing game that is just going to keep getting better.... thanks to <b>mods</b>.

Powder room exploding is not a cheat. Thye just turn their ship in brander when they are going to die anyway. You can do the ssame providing you have the perk.

this game is loaded with broken elements. it's a classic case of someone developing a neat-o water engine and then designing a bunch of farcical garbage around it. I'd like to see the storm engine in the hands of a competent developer and game designer. These guys are not it.

The game has flaws but not what are you complaining... it may be surprising but someone would expect exactly bad pirates from a pirate game. As for the rats they are just minor nuicanse adding 2-3% to the expenses. And I do see a way the rats (which were huge quantities in the old wooden ships times) to destroy and damage not only the food but everything which is not made from solid iron. You may think they cannot drink the rum but they can damage the caskets and even spoil the powder kegs damaging the water-tight wrappers. In case you don't know there was no such thing as absolutely dry wooden ship. There always was more or less water in the holds and it was quite common the cargo to be damaged by the water or by the rats.

20-30% would be more like it. At one time they spoiled what amounted to like 30 tons of wood in less than a day.

Insane suicidal pirates - war tartane attacking manowar ? Why ? Just for annoiance?
I know about brander , bossun skill if I remember , but brander their last ship ? Again suicidal.

Also they tend to surrender when they know I have no space for storage and already 5 ships.

Another idiot flaw is the quest captains - I kill them once and they get the mood for a chat - "sir , you almost sunk our ship !". And after this they are restored hp & energy but I'm not. And sometimes my character just stands there at the end of the dialogue forgeting to draw sword.Because the game has bugs.

Cannons not firing because computer ships must stand a chance.Had gunnery skills at 100.

Chainshots not realy working agains mid to small ships but working great against big ships. And is not because of accuracy.Gunnery at 100.

Also every idiot in tavern has battering ram skill so that he could hit you no matter what.Right , proffesional swordsman everywhere.

Idiot AI officers firing on my back only to disrupt my defencive stance like they are working for the enemy not for me.

Idiot AI ships that "go away" right into enemy hands or crash into my own ship so that we could sink together.

No to mention frequent crashes when boarding or changing place with fast travel and bad saves(with crash).

And the list coud go on and on.

Well, if you don't like so many things in the game you probably should be better playing "Barbie in the Ponyland" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

I think the suicide attacks *in* combat are legit. THe problem is, and I think this is what corsair is getting at, is that if you have a fishing boat, and you *know* you shouldn't engage a frigate, then long before teh branding action took place you made a decision to commit suicide. That plays into my earlier point about game balance. The fact is, the technical and design situations of this game are simply not defensible. They aren't. I wouldn't even expect many on the design and development team to defend this product as released. I know the suits make things almost impossible anymore, but that's not good enough.

As for the douche and his Barbie fantasy (and completely rotten analogy, btw, suggesting that somehow valid consumer complaints about bugs are an expression I guess of unmanliness: "real men play crappy incomplete games!" douche.), I'd much rather play a stable, complete Barbie game than this. At least the girlie game works. Stuff that in your samovar and brew it.

It's true that forums aren't great places for this, but often with foreign companies that use not just different languages but entirely different sets of key nomenclature, the hope is that one or two of them swim in and out of this place and might get the picture. I have written the company, as Iwrote akella I think when they released PotC. That is the first thing to do, I agree.
But this is frustrating. I feel ripped off.

Well yeah, that is annoying. A pirate ship chases me around the Caribbean, then when they finally manage to engage me it turns out it's a tartane or a sloop that promptly dumps all its cargo, turns tail, and runs. Well then why the hell did they chase me in the first place?

In the game "weapons" means everything needed for warfare - this including leather and leather straps for the armors; not to mention the hilts of the cheap weapons are wooden.

As for the complain for the pirates chasing you in the port - it is annoyng indeed but I think it is made to remove a exploit from the game (get close to a port on the overmap - even to an enemy port - and get rid of those pursuing pirates). Besides I don't see something bad with tartanes attacking my warship. I am not snobbish - can sink tartanes too.

What armors? Your crew don't wear armors. As for hilts, real swords have a rather substantial tang that extends all the way down through the hilt - even if the rats for some reason chose to chew away the oil-soaked, wire wrapped wood of the grip, the sword could be easily restored to working condition by wrapping some leather or cloth around the metal core.

I'm not complaining about them chasing me to port, in fact I <i>like</i> it, since it allows an even better exploit of luring them to the fort and letting it do most of the work. AFAIK making for a friendly port was a legitimate anti-pirate tactic, so I'd see nothing explity about it if pirates were to avoid ports and not pursue you into them. What I have an issue with is that all pirates will always attack you on the map, even if they turn tail and run as soon as you enter sailing mode.

Or it's 5 pirate ships with perfect intelligence that have followed you from miami through some mystical means (they never run out of food-and you look in their holds and they were running on six crackers) who know you're on a mission timer. Game balance. game balance.
