Game crashes after killing Amiel Berangere.

Im playing the core quest on PotC NH, as Nathaniel Hawk. I got as far as getting to Martinique for the main quest after Speightstown gets captured. I kill the captain of the escort ship Amiel Berangere, but as soon as I start searching the room, the game CTD.

can someone give me a hand please?

After you kill him the innkeeper is supposed to run into the room. Do you have $3,000 to bribe him? Try going back to your last save and try again. You might have to go back to before you land on Martinique.

well this is strange. Since I played NH questline with my newest build, this did not occur at all.

What? No CTD? No Innkeeper? I always pay the money and get a big reputation boost.

Forgot about this. Turns out paying the guy 5K doesn't CTD, seems only killing him does so. Im now at the part where I need to find Raoul Rheims thanks guys!
