Getting Interceptor into the game

We could use that blue paint scheme you mentioned before for the French <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

So black and red for the French and blue for the Spanish?
I mentioned blue for the French because of Lineship5 from AoP: That's light blue and has yellow fleur de lis on it.

Hm, a question for the history buffs out there. Wouldn´t the colour schemes mentioned by CPJ only apply to ships from
ca. 1750 to the Napoleonic Era? A convoy of blue spanish war galleons would look a bit odd, imho.

Theoretically, yes, but we've seen that RN ships do have color schemes in the movies, even if it's >50 years too early for that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> We're kinda... extrapolating <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

But of course, we may limit ships with color schemes to EN and EITC ships only <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

maroon is far darker. it's the midway of black and red. with the red they really mean red.

I like ships with colour schemes; I want to be able to tell ships apart at distance. Nation included.

hint: look at the flag. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

i'd think the difference in colour would still be pretty significant though. you should be able to distinguish them if the contrast between the reds is big enough.

Aye. Maroon is very different from red.

And yes, my schemes are about 1790 - 1815. The schemes were pretty close in the 1760s-1780s, but there were minor differences. For example, RN ships were still black/yellow in 1778, but it was a yellow hull with black whales and blue on the forecastle, quarterdeck, and poop. After 1815, most ships simply changed to black and white with gold trim, relying on larger ensigns to denote nationality. (The era of largely displaying your nationality had also died down somewhat by 1812. Giving way to identical ships with small ensigns on the superstructure in the days of the ironclads.)
Before the 1760s, there wasn't much uniformity in ship schemes, much like naval uniforms. The RN established uniformed dress in 1748, but there were even accounts of RN captains putting together their own uniforms by using personal (and unauthorized) garb as late as the Seven Years War.

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maroon_%28color%29" target="_blank">Maroon</a> vs <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red" target="_blank">Red</a>: Not exactly the same; I still wonder if you could see the difference on a great distance though. I suppose there's only one way of finding out and that is to actually make some Spanish and French ships and try them out ingame.

So any chance we could decide on that Dauntless and Interceptor blue-and-yellow versus RN black-and-yellow issue? Perhaps we should start a poll.

<a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11435" target="_blank">Poll posted</a>. Let's see what we get. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

It's done.

You can download the <i>Interceptor</i> from my FTP folder.

Each broadside has 8 cannons, and there are two stern cannons. No chase cannons, though.

EDIT: Yes, I have managed to confuse stern with bow. Again.

bow cannons? i thought there where only stern cannons. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

You're finished Kazeite? Pieter says we should work together to get my Dauntless and your Interceptor to match, so that they look good together in Port Royal.

It seems we cannot access the PotC Files FTP anymore. Probably Keith has been changing some things. Kazeite, can you please upload the Interceptor to the PotC Build FTP instead? That one still works. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Done.

And, oh, I remembered something - I was unable to set sail furling correctly. I thought that all I had to do is set sail's number, but apparently that's not the case <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Awesome! Thanks Kazeite! I'm going to try her out right now! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />
