Help I can't capture ships

Hi there horrors of the 7 seas.

I seem to have a problem with getting the "Capture ship" highlighted. I played a game where I could, one of the first tries, a char with little skills(just undocked and attacked friendly ships, and I could capture the ship.

Now I can't. I have a rank 11 char with 6 in tactics(he is pirate nation), and still no go. Same with a new char(female, frenchie). Am I doing something wrong, or? First one has many officers, 2nd one has none(of those who can't). The one that succeeded had 2.
 
You have to have an un-assigned officer in order to capture a ship.

BTW, you can set the nationality or side of your hero/heroine. They don't hafta be frenchies.

If Beatrice Shark was a frenchie, she's be called "LaVonne De'Shark" Or something ;P
 
You must put to an official like companion, so you will be able to assign it like captain of the ship that you capture . <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

One thing I find troubling about the new interface:

I can't move the loot found on the captured ship to other ships in my fleet for resource management.

I can only shift things around AFTER the capture the ship interface.

You see:
Many times have I gotten a ship to surrender, only to find out that I don't have enough room to take anything at all. And my other boats could use the extra crew from the surrendered ship.... But nope. I godda let those poor souls drown with their ship cuz i can't even enslave those little sex toys... I mean... Men. ;P

The Take All button is virtually useless cuz the ship capacity would always be almost full and if it isn't full, all it'll have is 500 cannon balls and no space for anything else........

What if the Take All button distributes loot to ALL SHIPS on your fleet equally?
 
yes you cant move loot to other ship.
it's not a bug.

you also can't assign captured ship to your companion instead his ship - it's not a bug too.

if you have problem with cago space there is a discrad goods option (in new interface) use it.

it's was answer not only for you - some peoples says before they wanna those things. but we will not do it for some reasons (balance, realistic and so on).
just because my english is not good i can be a rude in some things (my english words count and grammar knowledge is realy bad).

Balance, and Realism. I respect that.

Modding is one thing.... but creating a game from scratch is just an incredible effort.

I wish i was an owner of some great website, so I could give you an interview. lol

Currently my own company is working on an international version of a popular Thai MMO. I'm currently helping with the translations.. Which brings me to my next question:

Is "Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales" actually "Corsair 3" developed in Russian, then translated into english by either Akella or Atari?

And if so, what's the difference between the Russian and English upcoming patch, other then the fact that their more compatible?
 
no differnece between Russian and EU/NA patches.

about translate question - i'm not sure i can talk about this, because it's inside information between Playlogic and Akella.
 
Ya know... I thought I saw "Grey Angel" somewhere so I had to double-check the end-game credits.....

I can't believe i'm talking to *THE* --==(( Artem "Grey Angel" Remanko ))==-- FROM THE END GAME CREDITS!

It's not the first time I talked with poeple from high up on the scrolling credits
But it's definitly the first time I talked to a Project Leader of a game I am TOTALLY addicted to.

If you allow me a few more questions:

What's the inspiration behind Blaze, and Beatrice Shark?
And why the name "Beatrice"?
In the dictionary, "Beatrice" is a a female given name: from a Latin word meaning “one who brings joy.”
Certainly, this holds true, because I've been having a great time playing her.

Are those 2 based off of any childhood heroes, or are they purely "cool" creations? Which Artist specifically made them?

And Lastly, after all this work; How does it feel to see your name paraded by orchestral music, as it marches up the screen during the end-game credits?

I will cheer for you when I see "Age of Pirates" on the top 10 Seller's Chart ;D

No but really, mateys, how did the name "Sharp" from Sea Dogs get switched to "Shark" in Aop? I think the main characters' English names should be fixed in the Patch! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Hello everyone, I'm new here!

My character is Beatrice Shark, rank 12, with tactics 6.
I have an officer of rank 7 and another of rank 6. They have not been assigned to any posts, meaning they are travelling with me as passengers.

My problem is, I am unable to capture ships [for selling purpose] after I have boarded them and have killed the captains. The "Capture Ship" tab just don't get highlighted at all.

I once heard that the officer has to be of a higher rank to be able to commandeer a ship. Someone please tell me if this is true?

And what is the solution of my problem?
