Help please , ship price !

Please tell me : do I miss something ?
How can be explained the price difference between the 2 ships.
Also notice that the one they offer less for is a bit better(more rezistant, and can cary more cargo and crew , has better guns also) only having a small minus in maximum speed.

I do think the game is bugged <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />.

ship one:

ship two:
<a href="http://img44.imageshack.us/i/ship2.jpg/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/6191/ship2.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

I did posted this 5 minutes ago and didn't appear on the forum(why !?)

Couldn't you randomly find a somewhat cheaper ship? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

That is pretty odd. I've noticed that too, but I've never seen such a large price difference.

In my opinion it has to do with the way you obtained those ships, I assume you captured ship 1 and legally bought ship 2 , captured ships sell for less on the contrary to legally bought from shipyard

Nope, sorry.Playing the good guy, both captured from pirates if I remember well.
Might be that the best priced has spanish origins(captured from Spain),I don't remember really well , but that should not make for the price difference.
Never have I bought any ship except for tartanes.
Either way both were captured in hard battle.I owned the more priced one for some time but the price alway stayed the same.

Thats strange because out of the two ships i would choose the Arabella which is the cheapest (thats not the reason i would choose it) but because its better not only can it take more damage but it has a bigger cargo hold and 32 IBS guns and can carry more crew which alway's helps when boarding other ships (which i do a lot of).

Maybe one of them is the patrol ship; don't know why, but that kind of ships is cheaper. Or you trying to sell the ship which sailed before under the same flag as the trader nation flag.

Prizes sometimes are not very reasonable.... look at your Arabella Frigate (the initial "Cinco Liagas"), it costs almost the same as the cheapered Warship and is far better in speed, maneuravility, point of sail, crew, same cargo, only 4 cannons less... it should cost much much more than normal ship.

<b>BEST REGARDS</b>

Even assuming that the cheapest one is a former military ship that doesn't justify this price difference.
I got the prices in Port of Spain ( that's english , in the game, I think - I only stop in english and french towns).
I will try other towns - but I'm afraid it's a bug.
Game does a random maybe like for many other things. But this time it's gone too far.
The less priced one(the better one) is the newest captured ( got it from a "gentelman of luck").

Another imaginary bug.
You alone are the answer to your question. Price depends on the origin of the ship. Stolen may not be costly.
There is a way to increase the value of the captured ships.

Ok.Thank you for Pieter merging threads.
And thank you Valeriyan for the confirmation about the relation price/ship origin , I suspected that too.

All I know so far is that Bounty Hunters' ships are extremely cheap.
They basically attack you like pirates, so maybe you just got one from these

It's really a bug. I think there is no way to find out about it from the game, anyway i have never found anything about. Only on Seaward.ru forums i got this info. We're playing with the game a very long time and it all so obvious for us, but for novices some of things like that looks really moronic and the game gives no hints about.

Yeap, bounty hunters ship = no way to get rich. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I wish I could avoid them cause their ships don't even sell up for after battle repairs price.

Which is...?

If you mean by repairing the ship before selling it, then thats not really good since every ship i've ever sold would cost me something like 5k to fix and i wouldn't have 5k+ added onto the sale price of what ever it was before the ship was fixed so i just sell them without repairing them now.

The best thing to do is to strip the ship of its cannons and sell those before selling the ship, you should make enough money (depending on ship type) to fund another battle where you can capture another ship or two. Don't forget to search the ships after the hand to hand combat has finished, loot all bodies, and search all chests etc. You can make a lot of money just from searching bodies, cheasts etc and selling all goods to market trader's.

"A bug", if it works as designed developers? If think, it is possible to do. redCorsair has shown it.

Yep. Gameplay bug, design mistake, whatever. If you <b>must</b> read forums to understand what's happening in the game, then the problem is in the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I don't get its exact meaning. "Possible to do" what? To sell the stolen ship at full price?
