How do ye afford it???

I was wondering how ye can survive while paying one howle MOW, even more wondering about 2 or 3 <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />
Signing articles cant feed al those mouths can it? that 950 times 3=2850

2850 mouths to feed and pay..... seems hard....

got any ideas how to afford this??
 
Ive never tried having a mow or more with signed articles. Id say if you can, plunder merchant ships for goods, attack a few forts perhaps?

Thought I dont know how much money you can make out of that.
 
In build v11 i got 1,300,000 from one fort. I plunderd many ships (captured and sold them) and i made `tons-o`-cash and when i got a MoW i simpley played about 5 minutes and sold it (it si toooooooo slow and with a very small turn rate).

Knocking out forts is probably the best way, that and just boarding and capturing every ship you see... You can take out a LOT of ships in only one day... Heh...

I never sail with four MOW's that are FULL of men, the ones that are not my flagship I usually have about half the capacity of crew...

My flagship has a full compliment of men... The other ships don't matter much... They might contribute, but <shrug> it's up to me to board 'em and loot 'em... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Just keep capturing ships.. i made 3millions in less then 2 days..
and i have a MoW and a Warship... no problem feeding them
Just can't find good items to buy..
 
You can turn feeding your crew issue off ( require `pre-game` sitting in the game file ) . Why I do have to feed them ?? I pay them salaries so they have to feed themself .
 
I have a MOW in my fleet, but I use a Sloop. I order the MOW to drive right down the middle guns blazin, and then I rush in and board n' plunder ship afta ship. Easy money.

PS: Check around while ye board ships. After the fighten's done, look fer chests and the like. Ye can get some nice gems, free potions, and excellent guns in these things!

MOW's are fun, by I still to this day prefer the Xebec. I'd prefer having 3 of those than 1 MOW.

But IS nice having a big ship here and there ... Cargo room ... Ugh. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Speaking of the chests and treasure locations, I was playing POTC when Lady Mings wandered by the computer room and asked me what I was doing. I launched into a detailed lecture on the finer points of boarding technique and demonstrated what I was talking about as I played the game.

Having defeated the enemy crew, I approached one of the chests and when I tried to open it I received the message about the knife slipping and me stabbing myself in the hand. I got the message two more times when Lady Mings asked, "Why don't you just shoot the lock off of the chest with your pistol?"

Rolling my eyes I replied,"My dear the game is not set up that way," and I proceeded to show her by shooting my pistol over the chest and then hitting F3. The chest promptly opend.

"Oh, well," I said, "that's just a fluke, they all open eventually," and I proceeded to the next unopened chest. Once there, I fired my pistol and the chest promptly opened on the first try. As did the next six chests that I attempted to open in order to show her that her advice was not good.

Lady Mings sauntered off humming the tune, "I Did It My Way," with an air of satisfaction that I have often beheld on her face during the course of our relationship.

Someone please assure me that shooting the lock off is not a feature of the game with Build 11. Strangely enough, it appears to work with a great deal of regularity, but anyone who has been married as long as I have will understand why I need some reassurance here. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />

Try encontering on open sea if you wana se em, larger patrols usaly has at least 1 of em, but bewhere, patrols can be mighty dangerus! like today i attacked a british one,(I dont wana be at war whit em but the main quest changes that so i guess il pay one of them peace makers to seattle it up) that patrol contained, 2 manowar's, 2 battleships. 1 frigate, 2 lineships, and a pinnance. and YES there is worse then that <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Aye mate they appear in shipyards,depends on yer level,fame an such,yer better off tew capture one cause dey take a huge chunk O'yer loot tew buy <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
