Is there a fix for bugged escort missions?

Took an escort mission with a damn sweet reward to Antigua, without being aware of the bug (can't move, merchant doesn't show up). Did some searching here and found a half dozen other threads, some suggesting a file somewhere that fixed it, although those threads seemed older.

Anyway, is there any known fix for this? Or some kind of console command (don't even remember if we can actually use console in this game) to re-enable my controls? My last hard save was a while back...
 
I already fixed this several times and for whatever reason it STILL doesn't work right.
I'm a bit lost, but hope I can look into it again at some point in the future. :facepalm
 
I had the same problem :(. but i saved the game before i left port and when i arrived at antigua i saved the game while just arraiving :). but when i landed at the dock, he wouldnt move forwards or anything. i tried going onto the merchants ship to find the captin but no joy. so i didnt do that mission in the end :(!. would be good if we could get this fixed tho!
 
I know. The frustrating thing with this one though is that I already fixed it about three times and it still won't work right. :modding
 
But it is only certain places that have problems, like Eluethera, Antigua, and Havana.
 
Havana too? I knew about the AoP/CoAS town models, but Havana is just plain the old Redmond! :shock
 
I was relying on my defective memory for Havana. There was a thread about this subject around here somewhere. Anyway, I no longer do escort missions because of the bugs.

Bugged escort missions are: Eulethera, Antigua, Havana, and Hispaniola (Port Au Prince).
 
i did an escort mission too going to alice town i think merchant doesn't show up, is he doing something or don't want to pay? can i attack his ship instead and take over it?

I play the bartolomue story, is it working? I din't even finish the first quest it says deliver to martineque but when i was there the man just says (.....) i've searched for a solution and i read just increase the cargo so i sold it to a smugler and bought another ship and filled it with sandal, still the man doesnt want to talk to me...

The Bartolomeu quest is working. :yes

Playing the escort mission - while also doing the Bartolomeu story - might have messed up the story.

Did you get to the guy who wants the sandal in time?

Are you sure you had the correct amount of Sandal?
