Long time no hear.

My real life was somewhat chaotic in the recent months. Changing to a new department, find a new apartment, moving and so on.

But now it's done. And my life will come back to normal (I hope ;) )

So I think it's time to finally publish the MEGA MUSIC PACK.

I reworked the music selection a little bit and cut out some songs that are not in used in the pack anymore or were doubled and brought it down to 515 MB.
I also followed Pieter's advice and has changed the victory music. So there will be three different pirate talk sound effects when you defeat the last enemy or the last enemy surrender. It's much better than playing two pieces of music at the same time.
This sound files are hard to hear cause your own crew cheer "Hurrah" at the same time but they are there. ;)

It is not necessary to empty your \RESOURCE\Sounds\MUSIC folder but it's recommended to have a clean MUSIC folder.
And it is highly recommended to backup your \Program\sound folder BEFORE you install the music pack.

Installation note:
Install PotC Build 14 Beta 1 and all patches and then the music pack at last. Otherwise the build installation overwrite the sound.c file with an unmodified file.

IT'S HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO READ THE "README" BEFORE INSTALLATION!!!

This is where the fun starts :D

If there are any problems with the music or the .ogg files please let me know.

Have fun!!!

Cool! I have to remember to download this when I get back home end April.

This does sound pretty good! :doff
But you had me confused for a moment when you said 'hardly recommended'. 'Hardly' implies 'not really', so I guess you meant 'highly'?
Anyway, enough of me being fussy. I'll download it when I get a chance. :yes

Uuups, yes you're absolut correct. :facepalm :eek:ops2
Of course I mean "HIGHLY" recommended to backup your files.

Otherwise it would make no sense. :)
Thanks for correcting me.

My kids are to blame for that. They have distracted me when I'm posting. :D

Finally got around to installing it this morning. The only issue so far is that the "MUSIC" folder did not end up in the right place, so I had to move it manually. Now the music is being played.

Damned, you're right. :facepalm :facepalm
Don't know why I forgot the Sounds directory.

The MUSIC folder from the pack should be copied into RESOURCE/Sounds/ directory, not directly into the RESOURCE folder.

Three days later everything seems to be going according to plan. The only time no music at all has been played was, in NH, after stealing the Boussole and returning to Port Royale when everyone meets in the governors office. No music there.

The music when entering and leaving port can be great. Jungle music is not so good. The flamenco music at Spanish towns is great. It is a mega pack for sure. :onya

Thanks, it was a hard work to find these songs.
Concerning the jungle music, it is only a suggestion from me. If anyone knows some better music for the jungle, please let me know.

I just forgot to tell you what music is included in the music pack.
I posted it before, but only in the PotC Modding board and it can only read by modders. :shrug

Ship Deck Songs by Tom Sullivan and the Crew of the brig “Unicorn”
The working songs a recorded onboard the brig “Unicorn” with the professional shantyman and singer Tom Sullivan and the crew of the “Unicorn”, all of them are sailors in profession and no professional singers. The capstan, pump and halyard sounds that can be heard in the background were not inserted later. These were the original ship sounds.
These songs can be heard when you moored and walk on your ship deck.
