New Generic Loading Screens

While we're at the subject of loading screens (as seen <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11464" target="_blank">here</a>), we will also be needing some new generic loading screens for Build 14. For this we need the following:
- Start game - Currently Sea Dogs fort battle
- Load new game - Currently DMC film poster
- Load saved game - Currently bloodthirsty pirate
- Storm engine splash screen - Currently DMC film poster with PotC logo
- Game main menu - Currently cute pirate lass

Possibly we could also use new screens for:
- Battle
- Sea
- Storm
- Twister

Preferably all loading screens and menu images should be in a similar style for Pirates of the Caribbean: New Horizons (aka Build 14). Personally I would prefer pictures that don't look like screenshots, but more like paintings and such.

Please post here any images, pictures, paintings, etc. that you think could perhaps be used. Please also post any screens that you make yourself here. Note that all final loading screens should be at least 512x512 pixels in size.

Here are some images found on 3dluvr.com that perhaps we could use, though I think their resolution might be a bit too low.

Hm, the one with the officer would be perfect, too bad its copyright protected ( btw, is pyro interactive developing a naval based game?). The ships on most of the other pics are far too modern imho, 5, 6 and 7 look ok, though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

So has anybody found anything good yet or done any nice work that we might use for loading screens and main menu's?
 
maybe. i might have something interesting, though it was originally never intended for it. maybe i'll be able to upload it.
 
So any thoughts/work on possible artwork yet? We <i>will</i> need this stuff for Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
well, someone could try to colour my drawing of the guy in the topmast for a loading screen, as that was my original intention with it. i'm really quite happy with the drawing. it just needs colour, and i'm bad at colouring. someone with photoshop would be useful.

Ah; <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11573&hl=" target="_blank">here</a> it is. Nice drawing; would be nice to use somewhere if it could be computer-coloured. Perhaps Commodore John Paul Jones could do something with that?
 
note however that the two dark bits on the sail are part of a big red cross, in case you where wondering about that. it's a good thing i didn't draw the waves or sky yet. it should make it a lot easier to colour it in without it. the colour scheme would be something like a light wood colour for the mast, slightly yellow sails (like the ones in-game) and a green crow's nest, though the original crow's nest is far more colourful. it would be better to have it in a single colour because of all the seperate parts being visible. maybe it's good for a land ho/sail ho screen?
 
That's a good idea; would be really appropriate there if you or somebody else can colour it in to look more like a game graphic. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
 
well, it won't be me, though i'd like to. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" /> colouring really never was my forte.
 
Have a look at <a href="http://www.dusso.com/" target="_blank">this</a> site. There's some really pretty pictures there, including some PotC matte paintings. Didn't know where to post and didn't want to start a new thread. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
doesn't really look useful. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" /> to me, at least. just contains pictures. nice ones though.

So would any of our texturers be interested in making some new loading screens for Build 14?
