New interface:

superdurnius

Corsair
Coordinator
3D Artist
Storm Modeller
Ok, hello...

I, I gues like almost all here, while playing use that new interface (that more wooden one)... I like it, Thanks the one who made it...
But I always note, that Interface images use old background (blue). For now I noted thease:
Save game menu interfaces
Some character interfaces and "No character" interface
Fast Travel Interfaces
All Items interfaces

Do anyone still working on that "new" Interface??????

Maximus made those new interfaces. I actually found some reddish brown versions of many interface pictures in some Russian AoP mod things; you can find them <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/Pieter%20Assorted%20Files/" target="_blank">here</a> on the FTP. Pirate_KK said he might add a toggle on using the blue or the brown ones, but I'm not sure how far he got with that. He's got rather a lot on his plate. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Well, I just have idea about items interfaces... I just know that on .tga.tx posible tu use alpha (still don't know how...) So it might be possible to make items using no background (with alpha)...
If I just knew how to make thos da*n alpha's on tga.tx, I could do that... Only someone should code the game, that Items could use images with New or Old backgrouns... (I gues this make sence to someone <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> )

That might indeed work. That way we'd just need to have a default background with the item texture with alpha map on top. That saves download size; otherwise we'd need to have two sets of item textures.

That's what I was trying to say... I already noted, that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/258_captain_of_a_ship.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":258_captain_of_a_ship:" border="0" alt="258_captain_of_a_ship.gif" /> always bother about all kind of file sizes

So we'll reale need those backgrounds: Simple, +3, -2... For new and for old... So it takes 6 backgrounds...

Not realy... The -2 weapons is darker, and his background is also darken... The same with +3:
Here egzmpl... I made smth similar for old interface... (now working on new backgrounds)
Simple Var
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Old_Simple.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
+3 var
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Old_Good.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
-2 var
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Old_Broken.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The funniest thing with this 'new' interface is that most of it is coming from good old Seadogs...

Good point. That complicates matters. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Well, not realy... It still saves some size for you... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Becouse simple one will also use skills, cannons and ect...

OK, here is my 10 mins work... Still need to work little bit, but it's good for start:
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Old_Simple.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Old_Broken.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Old_Good.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/New_Simple.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/New_Broken.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/New_Good.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

BTW: If you see the large images, press Refresh

Hmm... I know... Well... Wood sometimes burns, right? ... Might be putt some fire in that corner????

maybe the weapon itself should have the flare/shineyness. but that would mean replacing each and every excellent class weapon image, and they're already shiney anyway. besides, the menu being on fire might not exactly be taken seriously. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

flare/shineyness would make dificult alpha... Half-transperent... And yes... Fire more fits to bad shape... Need more thinking...

Ok, I'll start to make alpha-interfaces... Here are my test to see if it is posible... :
(BTW: THat's just 5 mins of work... Don't look to details <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />)
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/potc/SuperDurnius/Interfaces/Screen_WIP_1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Definitly possible, but wouldn't this be a ridiculous amount of work on your part? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
BTW: Nice to see you figured out the alpha maps! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Well... might be... But I'm sick of character work on PotC... And "Skilled" only with Photoshop... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

There's plenty of things you can do with textures. For example, we could still use some <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11465" target="_blank">new Build 14 menu's and screenshots</a>. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
