I was foll'n around and added new islands but the regular islands are a white outline,can't figure it out

the sea colour is a texture somewhere i think. you'll probably eventually want to edit that to make it go white around your new islands and to make sure the white is in the right place... apart from that, it must just be that the island models are listed somewhere in the code and you have to add the new ones?
 
Aye thanks mates,added max island to match in Global C.The problem is not with new uslands but with exixting islands,their textures don't show up so their all white like QC in this pic

Aye mates,I'd be take'n Islands only from de Morgan Pack,integrated them into POTC,their locators need to be added for islands an' towns,forts,all the TGA.TX textures are there,so right now they all only show up on world map I just wanted to see if it could be done,but like I said Oxby,Redmond,QC,FF,Conceico,I.M. island textures on the world map show up all white,I never touched their files.How would ye find coordinates for new Islands on de map ?There be a GM locator file for each new island but ye can't open it with GM viewer.here a better pic <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

That's because as Kieron said you're using the old resourcetexturesworldmapseasea.tga.tx texture. That texture has the ocean color as well as the shoals near islands.
You need to grab the new one included in the A&M pack as well as the geometry (solely the latter is what you have now).

Nice job skull! i once tried making islands but failed miserable... i got the locations and all to work but no image lol you would go to the battle screen when you were near land and all but no island...but GREAT work!!! a keg of rum and food from me to your crew, to stop them from interfing your work with them blasted muntiny's <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
You got the textures required by the _islands_, yes, but not the updated texture that the backdrop (i.e. sea) uses, I think.
Because the islands themselves aren't there in white; it's just blobs of "paint" on the sea texture you're seeing in those spots.

What about cheating slightly, and seperating it into two island chains/world maps.

Your on the map that has the old islands (Map1), then you sail to some point, revert to sea, go through some straights, and then go back to world map at a different set of islands (Map2).

You could put your new islands over where the old ones are, or just remove the old islands comepletely from Map2, and set your ones to be wherever...

of course i have no idea of thats even possible..but it might work
 
Can you put a few cities on each island, like maybe alot on Cuba. All Spanish, of course, maybe a pirate hideout?

all new islands have city and fort textures from the morgan Pack added but its a little confus'n as their are 8 parts to download,I've not seen the new map so don't know what islands are what,an no luck fix'n the sea textures so the original Islands show up propely on the map,plus ye have to add new island coordinates X,Y,Z in Global an no idea how to find the new island coordinates ,arghhh!I need more Rum <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/beer2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":beer" border="0" alt="beer2.gif" />
