Pearl Divers settlement

Would appreciate any clarifications here.

The Indians are nowhere to be found. Both settlements, day and night, nearby shores, nowhere. Are there any explanations on their disappearances guys? I need to talk to them with regards of the whereabouts of Sharp's secret informant.

You need a Spanish trading licence and fly the Spanish flag, otherwise a sentry warns them of your approach and they hide in the jungle.

I've paid these settlements a visit in previous cases with no problems. It didn't necessarily require a Spanish patent; as long as you kill the Sentry before they warn the villagers, and rest until the following morning in my ship. In my earlier visit, the Indians were present. Do you suggest that getting a patent would somehow bring the Indians back?

Said trading licence, not patent. Not the same thing, although I imagine patent would work too. Aaaaand I have no idea about killing the sentry. I gave up on that since I can't catch him, one bullet won't kill him, and my idiot companions won't start shooting at him until after I do, by which time he's way out of range.

how do you get a spanish patent or trading licence because I cannot seem to get the sentry

thats ok After about 20 goes I managed to shoot the sentry twice and kill him before he got away

After killing Austin in the Pearl Divers settlement it says in my complete quests that I've finished it but my quest book didn't update when I killed him Is that the end of the Austin quest

Yeah I meant license, wrote the wrong thing my bad. I did what you suggested, but the only difference that resulted is that the sentry presented me with a warm welcome instead, but it did not change the fact that the native Americans were still missing. I'm starting to figure that it's another game's bug, because I clearly remembered I met them in my earlier visit when I talked them before into selling me pearls illegally in a nearby shore, but I chose not to apparently. When I came back months later, they have vanished into thin air.

As for the killing the sentry, double-barrelled guns should suffice.

Yeah, can't use those.
Anyway, the disappearing indians is weird. Maybe they're still waiting for you on that shore? Or maybe they're pissed off at you for chickening out on them and don't want to have anything to do with you! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Hello! Sorry for bringing up old topic, still I've got the same problem as sennengurushi. The indians are nowhere to be found. Anyone knows what to do/ how to fix this? Playing vanilla, second game (first one - captain level, didn't played much still I've finished Austin quest and I remember indians were present in both "pearl" villages). Currently I'm playing impossible, rank 3 also finished Austin quest, met White Boy but no indians at all :modding

Problem solved, it happened because 2 similar quest were active. Will see if this Emilio quy shows up :) .
