Its a rather nice generic mod enabler described in the AOP modding section - it was found from another interesting game that was salvaged by great creative modders like the people working on POTC.

anyway it allows you to back in and out of mods without changing the original program so it allows you to tinker with possible mod combinations without the fear of ever needing to reload the original game to start over from scratch.

Extra particularily usefull when you suddenly discover that mod XX457 version 5 is not compatible with mod Green Sails or otherwise won't work unless you install XX252 first.

I've been using it on AOP to switch between AOP, SFS, and AOP 1.5 (all completely incompatible)
 
I have a quick question: What is "Pre Build 13 Base Version (296 MB)"? Can I use this as a base directory adding Build 13 Full, Build 13 Update 3 and then Build 14 Alpha 6,7 etc.?

I just screwed my installation modding a little on the mainquest bug and now I have to reinstall.

I've had Build 11 installed on my computer for ages, and while cleaning up some files on my computer ran across it again and decided to update to the current Build, having enjoyed the previous ones so much. So I reinstalled POTC, downloaded Build 13 Full, 3 update full, and the little micro patch to make it all work. Haven't installed them yet, because someone else posted that it works better if you install Build 13 (+) over Build 12.1. The link for 12.1 doesn't seem to work on the front page of this forum. How much will be affected if I don't get 12.1, and where else can I find it?

You can find 12.1 on my site hopefully, but it should work just fine if you install 13 without installing 12.1 first.

Hi, sorry if 'm posting in the wrong section.

I just downloaded Build 13 (Full) and tried to install it over the original PoTC (no other mods installed). But everytime I run the program, nothing happens for about 1 minute 50 seconds (I counted) and then my PC just shuts down!

I've tried this a number of times, but still get the same result. I'm using Windows 2000 right now. Can anyone help?
 
did you run RunMe.bat after installing build 13?

how about visiting the pirate hideout again eh?

I'm back to my pirating adventures after sooooooooooooo long! (Work and things got in the way, and before I knew it, almost a year had gone by if not more.) I'm such a fool though, I searched for Piratehideout.COM a few days back, and when it came up empty, I thought the site had closed down so I came here XD

But about the build, I haven't been able to do ANYTHING with the file since downloading it. I double-click it, nothing happens for 2 minutes, then my PC shuts down. It's frustrating! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
 
why not try downloading again? it would seem to me that it got corrupted. however, does your computer have at least 200 MB free on the C drive?

it's pretty quiet lately. but if more people show up, more posts will be made as well.
 
Okay, I downloaded the mod 12.1 and the update to that from Pieter's page and installed them. The game is working fine now. But I can't seem to do anything in the Character Status screen (which you get when pressing F2). None of the buttons work when I try to click them. HELP!

I didn't find an error.log file, but I did what you said with the engine.ini file. Now what? Should I start a new game?

Can someone please tell me how to install build 14 alpha 6 it just says that it can't find the files it worked before but i had to reinstal Potc and did the same thing but just didn't work ? any ideas
 
I have a little question, my apologies if it has been asked before or if this is the wrong place to ask.
If you download alpha 14.6, do you need to start a new game or not?

it's called the 'runoff election' Skull and i are STILL at a tie, even after the initial voting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
It seems again my webspace is down, along with all downloads. Strangely enough: I can still access everything via FTP, but not via the HTTP links anymore. Why, I know not. I'll try to find the e-mail address of the person who gave me the webspace again and try to get it working again.
