Well, for one it was a big, nasty trojan and some spyware. Those two in conjunction locked out norton. The spyware locked up the system and the trojan did the final blow, so I saved the computer at least, but all of my files are gone from it. This is my laptop, my desktop is okay, but I didnt hook it up to the internet for this very reason.
 
and that's exactly the reason why i use hotmail as my harddrive. strange that i haven't had any such problems so far, but i'm not eager to taunt fate here.
 
I had a trojan spyware and norton kept saying that my drive was secure and to ignore the virus warnings. I downloaded spyware software and it kept capturing this virus and eliminating it, but the virus kept making copies of itself and hiding. Finally I was online and Norton sent me a message saying that it had gotten the virus and got rid of it. And since then this same virus has tried to get on my system again but Norton recognizes it now and blocks it. Thankfully I didn't have to reformat, which I was close to doing.

I am again not impressed. What's the point of having Jack's brother in there?
What is it with Hollywood and insisting on bringing home the whole family???
Anyway, apparently it is confirmed there will be a PotC 4.
I haven't yet seen the official source.

Only kidding. I agree, Pieter, it sounds gimmicky. Unfortunately, that is what passes for ideas from these people. They just want to make another movie and cash in without much thought given to the process. They are rising to the level of their mediocrity, as the saying goes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
 
Indeed. I would SO love to see OUR story made into a movie.
It might actually be a GOOD movie!
It would probably even stand on it's own, without it's PotC tie-in.
I noticed that our story owes more than a little bit to Mutiny on the Bounty, of all things.
But with a twist and a whole lot more fun.

I agree wholeheartedly, Pieter. I like the Muntiny on the Bounty angle. I hadn't thought of that. I think we can submit a very good script but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be very much in the way of constant input from everyone, probably since everyday life keeps interfering. We may just have to go about this between the two of us for the time being. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
I agree, Mercer. This script is to good (IMHO) to let it just fade away. To many unrealized good ideas.

Well, I recommend that we re-do the outline, or dig it up so we can get the old idea machine going. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

That rumour was the whole reason why we started this project.
I would LOVE to see it finished.
Unfortunately I am just WAAAY too busy to be of any help.
But PLEASE just continue writing quick drafts of the scenes we need.
We can fine-tune later, but we need something more substantial to work with than the rough outlines we've got.

Indeed that rumour DOES sound too outlandish for PotC. Pirates in ATLANTIS???
But even so, even the supposed "brother of Jack" angle doesn't sound too good to me either.
What I would like for the next PotC is something NOT so outlandish as the previous films.
Which is exactly what we were doing with our story.

Indeed I also like the Mutiny on the Bounty angle.
What I would like with our film is to try and make a mix of both Oscar-worthy drama (MotB)
and great piratey fun (PotC) and possibly add some nice off-the-record social remarks as well.
It'd be great if our story would be more than just "fun", but would actually be GOOD.
Especially if we manage to come up with a story that stands as well on it's own as it does as prequel.
Which I think our storyline might just be able to acchieve. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

What would you like to have changed in the outline, Mercer?
 
Oh, lol. I just wanted the original outline to be re-made or dug up from past pages. Just to get the ideas flowing... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Pieter is correct though, we should start writing up some drafts for the next scene. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
