it would be great laugh if you could add certain dialogues to certain situations. ''STOP BLOWING HOLES IN MY SHIP!" for instance, like when your ship health gets below 10%. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> i think it would be so much fun having that.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
LOL. Now that would indeed be a good ingame joke. Perhaps we should limit it to just the Black Pearl. Or to just the Jack Sparrow player character. It shouldn't become annoying, of course, so it shouldn't happen too frequently. And preferrably it should happen in winnable battles, because it's not really fun to hear that line after which you just know you're doomed to sink. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

i certainly agree with that last bit. but it would be harder to put in-game in a different spot.

"where's that monkey!? i wanna shoot something!" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
can be used when you enter an area with undead in it. maybe, if the game recognises that as a situation, it could play that dialog, or maybe even a sound clip!

another one: maybe if Davy Jones is added to the game "Come to negotiate, 'ey you slimy git!?" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . and if you have a "Jar of Dirt" as an item [bought from Tia Dalma on the Battle Rocks in exchange for a caged Undead Monkey, or some other supernatural object(maybe another use for the orb at the end of the game?)], he could say an other version of the sentence:
"Oi! Fishface! Come to negotiate, 'ey you slimy git!? well, look what i got! i got a Jar of Diiirt i got a Jar of Diiirt and guest what's inside it!" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />: . and maybe have Davy Jones say "Enough!" before going hostile and shooting at you...

and another one: when you get a large number of enemies against you, or are down to 25% health, Jack would say "oh bugger..." <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> .

Yet another one: when your crew is wiped out and you only have 1 crew member left, or 0, Jack could say "all by me onesy" or something similar

and another [will it ever end!? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ] : when you run out of Rum on the ship, if your using Jack, a sound clip would come up, saying "Why's the rum gone?"

and finally, when your ship gets to 25% Jack Says STOP BLOWIN 'OLES IN MY SHIP!. that, is one quote we NEED to have in the game, seeing as most of the game is spent sailing, and alot of battles come up in the waters of the Caribbean these days...

what would really be cool is if we could get the quotes from Jack and play them as a sound clip IN-GAME. the words arent what make Jack Sparrow. it's a combo of the words and the way he says them.

well, i have suggested and given the piece from the movie with the jar of dirt in another topic. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> just as an idea to use it in a possible dead man's chest quest.

the only problem is...we need to add a few things:
1) Jar of Dirt as an item
2) Davy Jones
3) Flying Dutchman
4) Jack Sparrow's quotes

and a few other things...

the flying dutchman is being worked on. a skin for the war galleon is being made to make it look like the flying dutchman. it could at least be a temporary version of the ship.

i think the character with the pegleg could be used as a base for davy jones, with converting the pegleg into a crableg. the problem is, that character is of an avarage height, and davy jones is in fact a really tall guy. he doesn't have a beard that could be converted to the tentacle beard either.

Well lads, Who made the Jack... uh... *ahem* <i>Captain</i> Jack Sparrow skin that we all use? We could find that modeler. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Or, if there is a PC version of a DMC game... we could convert a Davy Jones model/skin to make it useable in PotC.
I'd say that someone should take the battleship2 model and tweak it a bit to create the <i>Flying Dutchman</i>. Its a good size, relatively close in design, and would only require minor changes to make it look right. New sails that are unique to that ship only need to be made, and we can change it's data so its <i>faster</i> when sailing into the wind. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

In the movie, Jack is marked with the black spot given to him by Bootstrap then quickly sails for land and beaches his ship and is caught by the canibals. That is boring, running to an island and going ashore to be caught and wait for Will's arrival.

Here is a quest idea: When you start the game, you are Will Turner. You are the humble balcksmith who resides in Port Royale (Redmond). The game starts you at the port and you see three huge ships of the line... Lord Beckett's Indiamen. There are redcoats (Derringer's) everywhere. Someone warns you that they are looking for you because of your lot with Sparrow. You head for your shop and stay out of sight when suddenly redcoats come to your shop and arrest you. You then fade in to the church where we have the whole Elizabeth dialog and Gov. Swann (R. C. Seilhard) defends you. You get to see Lord Beckett who's EIC office is the house at the bottom far left of the port, the large, single story one with the stairs and porch and the interior is the new ship cabin with windows and balcony. (Its the closest looking thing to his office in the movie.)
You end up in the jail and talk to redcoats and you fade into the "office" of Beckett. He tells you all that "Bring me that compass..." stuff and you leave to find it. Then the plot falls off and it isn't linear anymore. The sole objective is saving Elizabeth, defeating Beckett and the EIC and Davy Jones, and helping Jack settle his debt, and any other things you want to do. How you complete these objectives is up to you, wether you do it like in the movie or add your own twists and turns. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Kodo Boon was he one who made the Jack Sparrow skin. I don't think he has been active for a long time. I don't recall him being active at all during the time I have been with PotC.

Commodore John Paul Jones' ideas sound pretty nice to me. But somebody need to make the character models, ship models and the code, so the big question comes uo: Who would do that?

can you post a screenshot of that battleship2? i personally think that the war galleon is much more similar to it, especially in shape. remember: the new black pearl isn't that big at all. the flying dutchman was not that much bigger than the pearl, so the size of the war galleon seems better to me. a battleship is just way to monstrous in size in comparison to the black pearl. it also has way to many guns. in the topic 'davy jones' you can find a link to a site with a huge load of pictures of the flying dutchman.

Amongst the list of things to tweak: covering up and moving around guns so that it is around 44-50 guns. (Versus the original 70)
Well, is there a way to expand and shrink models? I remember someone talking about a ship that they were making, they accidentally set the scale too large and the ship turned out the size of Oxbay... then after he lowered the scale it was as big as a boot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Couldn't we set it so it's about the size of a frigate?

Here is the Battleship2:

<img src="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h300/_Commodore_John_Paul_Jones/battleship2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

I'm going to take this image and "doctor" it to look like what I can see it looking like in the end. I'll have it done asap. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Here it is. Lads and lasses of PA!... I present to you...

...The <b><i>FLYING DUTCHMAN</b></i>...

<img src="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h300/_Commodore_John_Paul_Jones/battleship2_dutchman.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

that IS a lot like the flying dutchman! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> remember that the bowsprit from the flying dutchman has broken off. you can see it on the pictures i mentioned. you can also see a very close picture of the figure head.

one tip for making the triple guns: place six guns in two stacks on the front of the ship to make the triple guns-sa! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

EDIT: that's awsome! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> it needs improving of course, but only in the details. the bowsprit is, as i said broken off. you could simply texture it onto the ship in stead off using a locator. the bowsprit used to be much less steep before it broke off. making it go up less steep would make the adding of the figure head easier as well.

i must say that was stunningly quick!

I thought the <i>Dutchman</i> had something of a bowsprit. Watch the scene where Jones has his ship plunging through the hurricane and he's playing the organ. In particular the moment where it's a sweeping shot of the <i>Dutchman</i> sailing towards you. The ship is under full canvas <i>and</i> JIBS. If there is no bowsprit... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> (I will agree, the bowsprit looks a bit long in the pic and I made this from memory. The actual making of the ship would be intricate and completely accurate, of course.)

yes, i remember the bowsprit being attached as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> but the picture clearly showed that it had broken off. you really need to take a look at those pics. you will be amazed at how good your version looks! also: the color of the ship is a bit lighter green. your version is to dark. the color might be right, but there where certainly bits that where much lighter, due to the fact that they where covered in some type of algy. remember: the flying dutchman was a real ship once. it is now basically a floating wreck as if it has laid on the seebed for many years. keep that in mind.

Commodore your tempting me....
Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look up at the sky with hope! and let this day be cursed, by we who ready to raise...THA KRAKEN!
i love that line <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> So you like it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Go look up pics of the <i>Vasa</i> or <i>Wasa</i>... whichever you choose, as it can go either way. Thats the ship that the <i>Dutchman</i> is based on. So I'd say that Jones' ship is from the 1620's. Cool, eh?

damn you nelson you beat me to it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

well, this ones for me:

"actually i was only captain for two years, then i was viciously mutinied upon! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jack1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j1" border="0" alt="jack1.gif" /> "
"then yu where a pur captain, but a captian nonetheless-a! have you not 'introduced yourself' all these yirs, as "captin--jack--sparrow!"?"

or this one:

yu have a debt to pay. ye've bin captain of the black perl, fer therteen yirs! THAT was our aggrement!

i just love his accent. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

anything else?

and you commodore, just look up those damn pics or i'll shove the link through yer throat! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" /> seriously, do you want the link? ketchup or mayonaise? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

one link to the Vasa, hold the mayo! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
<a href="http://www.cedcc.psu.edu/khanjan/cStockholm/046_Model%20of%20Vasa.JPG" target="_blank">http://www.cedcc.psu.edu/khanjan/cStockhol...20of%20Vasa.JPG</a>

i actually meant the pics of the flying dutchman. you can find a link to them in the topic 'davy jones'.

i've noticed that in the sound files, there is a soundclip of jack saying:

"i'm a dishonest man. and a dishonest man you can trust to be dishonest, honestly. it's the honest ones you have to whatch out for, because you'll never know...when they do something...incredibly...stupid." <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" /> i haven't figured out when it is used yet, but i did hear some mumbling in the background when father gerald attacked me according to the quest. it might have been the soundtrack played really soft.
