Pre Build 13 Modpack

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Pieter,

I will check the cannon fire and boarding as you suggest.

On the waves, if the default is realistic wave mode, I think someone mightt want to look at that. I don't think they look very realistic.

Who created Hawk's personal colors? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

Great work on the new ship icons on the map, CCC! I hated the old ones.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

i haven't experienced the lack of crew during boarding, i always have the full compliment.
p.s: pieter, could you send me the updated JMV skinpack?
sorry for being annoying but i really would like to get hold of them.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Here is more on boarding. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

I have done several over dozen boardings in a new game with post build downloaded today. Playing level 35

1. At all boardings morale is excellent, heroic or high. It seems unaffected by canon firing.

2. All boardings but three are conducted at <b>Apprentice </b>level. The others were conducted at <b>Journeyman</b>

3. In all baordings crew joined me and my three officers.

4. In all boradings I got the the new big deck to start. All but one of the ships boarded were level 4, 5, 6,.

5. In all boardings enemy hit points started over 600. This was unaffected by whether I was playing as Aprentice or Journeyman so.... something is clearly not right in boarding.

A couple of ideas are to look at the code for boarding and the way the new decks are working.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Hmm. Sounds like something is wrong, yes. I don't recall anything being changed to influence it though. I am going to add all bugfixes to the old November version and then release that as a version that needs testing. With a bit of luck, that version will be less buggy. Then we can try to merge in the more recent mods and see if that works. Thanks for your testing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I am afraid there is no updated JMV skinpack yet. I still have to make it compatible with the Post Build 12 mods. Plus I have way too much to do (getting a Post Build 12 update done and making a stable Pre Build 13 and adding in the new ship skins and models) and have way too little time (thanks to #%@ school <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> ). I will get it done eventually though; you just might have to wait for a few more weeks. I'm sorry about that... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

its ok, i can wait.
good luck compiling, and by ship skins and models, do you mean the Jack Sparrow jr ones or the Captain Hawk mods, or petros' priveteer skin, or all of them, or a combination of them?
TIA

I meant all of them. I will add them all in eventually. After the modpack is working reasonably stable. Once it does, we should do some bugfixing. But since I am not very good at bugfixing, I would then have time adding all the skins and models and stuff.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> Pieter,

It is my pleasure to test. You and the modders do all the hard work.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

In Redmond after seeing Gov to start main quest, going out to sea and comming back with booty and prizes, dialouge disappeared. No pic, invalid text. I was able to sell and repair ships in the shipyard becase I know the dialouge on the keyboard by heart. Down 1 pluse space.

I left the shipyard and saved. When I loaded the save everything worked fine.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />

Ranosm of captives seems to be relatively constant. Most are 20,000 and change, some are 25,000 and change, regardless of the ship they captain.

The engine is quite limited in terms of generating waves, it uses a harmonica model which is easy to mess around with, but not suitable for producing realistic waves. The values in my mod are the most optimal and, in my own opinion are atleast much better than in the original game.

The inner workings have been extensively documented by myself, and you are free to change them as you wish. Or turn the mod off.

Thanks, Kiwi. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> Great Job, Pirae_KK. I love having this option.

<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->Please note:<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Because my own PotC installation contains some additional mods that still need testing, I have been unable to check if this version will run at all, because I don't have enough time today to install PotC all over again. Please download this and check if it runs. If it doesn't, I am terribly sorry. I will probably not be able to fix it today, but I will fix it Saturday if it doesn't work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

On what PostBuild must be applied this update? To the 05-feb-06 or to the Nov-05?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> Bye,bye,

thanks man. Still loving everything you guys are doing.

Rock on. Ive installed the 2 small updates in this thread on the feb 5 version. I take it this patch has those fixes & Im 95% sure i shouldnt need to reinstall.

again rock the **** on. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Pieter,

I am playing the March 1 update.

1. The boarding decks are seem to be fixed I have boarded only class three through six and have always gotten the small old decks.

2. While crew went with me on my first board they have not since, although the log says they equipped weapons.

3. I think the hit points on boarding are probably fixed, but I am not sure.

4. A new bug has shown up twice since Feb 5. In rooms in the taverns someone else is present. When you open the chest you have to kill him.

5. I think the blade dammage is working fine but at the default setting blades degrade one class after boarding one or two ships. Is there anyway to restore blade quality between combat other than go to a Blacksmith? That seems a little impractical and expensive.

Most excellent work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
