ok, here's the idea: let's all post screenshots here and pick the best few out to send to a site to show them the differences made by the mods. it will encourage people to buy the game because they know that they can add the mods. it may result in a few more programmers to join the team. the screenshots shouldn't be a regular screenshot. it should be a screenshot clearly showing something that is featured in the mods.

also: is the button for makin them changed? if i press alt+tab, the game crashes. some people have the same problem. F8 creates screenshots that i can't view, so that doesn't work either.

PRINTSCREEN! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

i'm not that much of an idiot, so i did try it, but it has the same effect as F8.

They seem to be talking about Pirates of the Caribbean, but I can't be sure. It might be the same in AoP as well. Anyway: This thread should be moved to the appropriate game's forum.

In PotC, when you disable fullscreen mode in the Config.exe program, you can use Alt+Tab just fine. If you set the reolution of the game higher than your Windows resolution, the game will still show up in fullscreen.

yes, it is PotC. i thought that it should have been placed here. is non-fullscreen very small or only a little smaller?

I moved this thread here, because I think all PotC-related threads belong in the PotC forum.

Non-fullscreen actually does look like fullscreen if you make sure that the game resolution is set to a higher value than your Windows resolution.

wouldn't that give problems if the windows resolution has a very low limit?(as with my computer)

I don't think so. Anyway: Just try it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

too bad i can't view those scrennshots i made before i knew this. i had one of a pinnace coming straight at me with the bowsprit only a few centimeters form my face at the exact moment that i fired my guns. but that's not what we need. we need screenshots with mod features.

Screenshots made with F8 during play are saved in TGA format. Seems that crappy Media Viewer by Microdopes doesn't open those.

I have always used Photoshop myself, but then, it's not something the average gamer is going to have unless they also have a job doing design.

There are a couple of tga viewers out there. Some also do conversion from tga to jpg and gif. I think VLC is one, and people have many other suggestions as well that are free.

Printscreen requires you to get out of the game, and open a new paint document, and 'paste' the screenshot in memory. Stupidest system built in screenshot mechanism I've ever seen... gotta love how MacOSX does it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> But uhm, yeah. I hear there are some 'screenshot' utilities you can download and install that do better screenshots. I don't know what they are, go google for them.

pieter's suggestion doesn't take up any space, so i'll use that. i really have to be careful with the space i've got.

Go find it and see for yourself ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

no, i really need to know before i decide what to do. i barely have enough room to download the newest build.

Well, keep in mind, each time you take a screenshot in game, its 3.8mb in size, and sometimes (for some odd reason) the game likes to take 3 or 4 (sometimes I've seen as much as 6) of the EXACT same frame. Which of course creates a heaping pile of screenshots in the folder, and sucking disk space like you wouldnt believe.

I use fraps, which will also give you a frame count, its only 4.KB in size and is an excelent tool for screenies, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
