Recruiting Professionals

Have you guys ever thought about recruiting some professional people?

Someone could make a summary with the best parts of the weekly updates and create a topic on polycount.com -> http://www.polycount.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=44
On CG Society http://forums.cgsociety.org/ I don't really know where... The Jobs section doesn't work (only paid and job offers from companys are accepted)
Or on zbrushcentral.com Comunity forum of pixologic zBrush. I don't know where to post it there too, so maybe only polycount is the place to recrute professionals.

Anyway, what I want to say: It's nice to ask a few guys on crydev, indiedb and so on but I think there are some professional 3d artist/character artist/animators/rigger/programmers and so on out there, who are interested in the age of sail and maybe they will spend a few hours in their free time.

We allready have a few professionals. I'm one too, nearly, I start my study on an art school in september, I'll be able to create characters in future but not now...
But I think few more don't hurt.

So who wants to create a recruitment thread on polycount?
I've allready spoken with @Armada but he hasn't time right now. So who's in charge?
@Pieter Boelen @Captain Murphy @Captain Armstrong

Pieter Boelen and Captain Murphy are the project leaders, therefore it is their responsibility if they decide this is worth pursuing. Unless somebody has been specifically assigned to recruit people since I disappeared.

Didn't we start a Promotional team to deal with recruitment on other sites? And Thagarr often does things like this, but he's busy with real life at the moment as well.

Pieter did actually add me to the promotional team PM, so despite not being a top dawg I have some relevance. I can look into some of the sites and try to figure out what might be appropriate, but there's a good chance I won't have time to write much of anything until next week

Well, I'm in at Polycount but can not post any threads, so am lurking.

EDIT: I got in and posted. Now to see if anything happens.

Maybe someone could contact him/her? http://www.prdobson.com/contact/

Maybe he/she would like to see one of his/her ships in a game and be able to walk around on it :)

Using models from external sources wouldn't necessarily work out. They're clearly built to a higher specification than we require, and would need significant modifications (probably has no LODs!).

Also, if these models aren't available for free (I can't imagine they would be), should we even consider using them?
Where do we draw the line between paying for assets we need, and paying an individual for their services? (The latter of which we ruled out.)

Of course they need rework but from high to low is faster then building a ship from scratch.
I didn't thought about paying. Of coruse we do not pay anyone for models. As I've written above, maybe he would donate his models, so that they don't collect dust on his HDD, but instead would have a purpose. He has written that he really likes 3d modelling, so maybe we could gain him as a 3d artist?

Also I've posted that here, because I didn't found any better place. But from his level of detail he might be a professional.

He or she, I don't really know...
