'hero' YUGH! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

i've heard rumors that you can become 'legend' as well, but i doubt it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

I was a horror of the high seas...here's how you do it.

wait until a ship strikes its colors..then circle it and riddle it with chain until you dismast it...then riddle it with Grape .

One ship done in like this will make you a horror...and no one will want to talk to you . <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

yeah, like that's the only way. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> simpler version: kill a trader that you encounter on the streets and you will plummet from hero to horror of the high seas. i still don't get why anyone wants to be that, cos it sucks, but what the heck. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

ok, that IS funny. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> but there are to many downsides to my liking.

I never could understand how people have problems with their reputation. I always end up as a hero, and I don't even know what I do to deserve it. I guess it's because I don't steal peoples purses when they are falling out of their coat.

Do highwaymen really run from you if you are a horror of the high seas? I might have to try that!

yep, always a hero meself. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

What is the best way of boosting reputation? I payed a lot of gold to church and im still Bloody Terror. When aboarding/sunking hostile ships Im doing it under pirate flag, will it stop to lower my rep?

pick up shipwreck survivors, go into the jungle at night to save thse girls who keep getting into trouble, and try if you can gaurd someones house. i'm not sure if you are allowed to gaurd his house with such a bad reputation though. the shipwreck survivors give the best boost, as there are quite a lot of them. the boost is small per sailor, but it adds up fairly quickly. also try to finish any quests yous till have running. it can be very handy to have a reputation boosting quest ready for those cases.

it is alwaysa very bad idea to attack friendly or neutral ships. it gives a massive hit to your reputation. just concentrate on the enemies that you have.

Another thing is, don't take any loans.

If you already did, pay it back before a month is up.

If you already defaulted on a loan, too bad, you're toast. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

From sinked ships? How do I do that? Sail to wreck?
What about enemy crew after aboardage?

Will attacking pirate ships help?

This one I've already noticed <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

yup, sink a few pirates, and sail over the wreck. shipwreck survivors ar also added to your crew if you lost some in battle. they float around, just like cargo. and it gives a bonus to your relations with the other nations as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Yes, that's right, eventhough I never understood why people cares so much about a poor dumy item trader. Completly unlogical.

The Merchant Guild is very powerful and influential. You not only get a major loss of repuation, but you get soldiers after you, and you end up at war with that nation. With any luck, you also end up at war with every nation. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I'm not sure how it ended up being coded.

kill trader = more items + sell items = more cash

simple pirate logic! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

But I don't get how tiny, poor and weak street merchants could be part of a powerfull Merchant Guild. If they were that powerfull, they would at least buy themself some building to turn into a shop, and not stay outside in the rain. I'm not shure they're making so much money.
