Rewrite current main quest...

I have a serious illness in the family right now so the re-write will be delayed for a while.
Not too long I hope.

sorry for ye jack <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I hope it will turn out allrigth.

Jack: Sorry to hear that. Best wishes.

In reference to what was said about the Black Pearl having been possibly built or enchanted by Celts:

I have studied the history of the Celtic Peoples for most of my life. I would assume that you would be reffering to the more mysterious time in their history, the age of the mystic druids, old men in white robes that control the magic of nature. This could not have happened. The following reasons show why:
1. This time period occurs around 500 B.C.E. No where near the time of POTC.
2. The only ship-like objects that celtic people built were small fishing vessels. They also had what could only be called floating objects used for fishing. These people would not develop the ability to build a vessel like the Black Pearl for centuries.
3. What, you say, if a group of druids survived to the time of POTC. This is possible I would admit, since druids still exist today, however, I would have no clue why they are in that part of the world.
4. If, if mind you, the Black Pearl was of Celtic origin, then you would find evidence of celtic imagery and symbology in the decorations of the ship.

While this is an interesting idea, the Black Pearl just could not be of this origin.

besides that, it says that it was the wicked wench in that link earlier in this topic.

I regret to say that my relative has passed away.
I am now making arrangements to return to the U.K. for the funeral. I will not be back until August.

This looks interesting and useful:

I have most of that covered.
<b>Missing items are:</b>
Sword of Cortés = I have used Treasure of Cortez
Upon discovering that the spirit of Cortés within the sword merely wants to use Jack for his own means,
Jack defeats the spirit and the sword is put into Tia Dalma's possession. -<b>Not done this at all</b>
Jolly Roger - <b>not included</b>
Bootstrap Bill Turner -<b> not included</b>
Weatherby Swann - <b>not included</b> (could be substitute for John Clifford Brin)

I think I have everything else covered.
The above changes/additions could be made but I would rather see if what I have done is acceptable first

Nevertheless the article <b>is</b> very useful.

How far are you with the project? Did the funeral go well? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I don't care about the sword of Cortéz. That story came from a silly kiddy PotC comic book and is not referenced anywhere in the movies. Therefore we can safely ignore it. I don't know where the Jolly Roger story came from; sounds like another stupid story to me. The pirate FLAG is called Jolly Roger and that's the only Jolly Roger reference we need. Would be nice to have Bootstrap Bill and Weatherby Swann in there at some point, but if you haven't done it yet, don't bother with it. I just posted the article for reference's sake.

Thanks for your concern TTT. The funeral went well, thank you. It was a very sad time though.

The project is done.
There are SO many options of play (as you know) that I want to try to eliminate as many obvious errors as I can.
I am playing the game from as many view-points as I can think of to try to remove as many "sillies" or "conflicts" that might be there before I upload it.

It is designed to be played in conjunction with the Main Quest, although I have provided options to just go with EITC or Dutch EITC or Freelance.
The last three options have initial links and part game in place, but, are incomplete as I think we need more input from those interested in these specific activities.
Main Game Flow as written:
Start in Oxbay (or island of choice) must go to Oxbay to initiate Quest - Meet Norrington - Meet Cutler Beckett - Join East India Company (EITC) [option to go full time EITC] - Report Invasion / Get EITC quest - See French Officer - Find part of Cortez Map - Complete first EITC quest - Sink French Ship - Troop Escort / Second EITC quest - Find Second part of Cortez Map - Get Cursed Gold - Rescue English Agent - Meet Danielle - Get thrown in prison - (spoiler)
Find out Cutler Beckett was an impostor
- [option to go full time Dutch EITC or stay with Main Quest] - Look for Rheims - Sent for Idols - Get Wicked Wench - Go for Prisoner in Greenford - Meet Danielle and Barbossa - Back to Redmond - Sent for slaves - Meet Tia Dalma - Get "magic compass" - Continue Rheims search - get third part of Cortez Map - Isla Muelle quest - Go to Governor's residence to get him - Branded as pirate - attacked by soldiers - escape - Greenford for Idol - Oxbay lighthouse for Danielle - Meet Cutler Beckett and get captured - Ship burnt and sunk - Sent to Redmond to be hung - Storm / washed overboard - Meet Davy Jones - Get Black Pearl - Go to Lighthouse - Meet and join with Barbossa (who has last part of Cortez Map) to go for Cortez treasure - Barbossa mutinies - takes ship and map - left on island alone - get off island - back to light house - rescue researcher - finish original main quest.

That is the general "as should be played" <u>outline</u>. Obviously, many variations are possible. All side quests are still in place, as is the ability to just play the original Main Quest as is.

Items Needed: (and can be added later)
Davy Jones Model
Cutler Beckett Model
Cutler Beckett Thugs
EITC Flag as personal flag

I have used "in game" models for the moment so the game can be played.

Hi Pieter,
It is done as per my previous post. We can of course add "Bill" and "Swan" as you suggest later.

I have the flag for the EITC, it is in PNG format:
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/PotCEastIndiaTradingCompany-1.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Pieter and Pirate_kk have it (i also use it as personal flag!)

Bartolomeu o Portugues made a Davy Jones model, but it is still unreleased. It doesn't look perfect, but like usual: It's much better than nothing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

If necessary, I can send to you or Pirate_kk my model before ending the new quest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
About Heretik, I hope he will end his Davy Jones.

was Heretik actually able to put it in-game? i'm not really sure about that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

To Short Jack Gold: I see you put a folder on the FTP called "SJG FILES FOR JACK SPARROW STORY". Might I ask what is and isn't included in that folder? Is it done? Work in progress still? I'll have a look at the files as soon as I can. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
