Sailing under new skies

Making a model not made for the game compatible with the game would still require some extensive work. I think most modelers feel that making their own model is actually less work than adapting an existing model to the game. We only have one real active modeler though: Kazeite. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

So, let me see... Hey, cool! It's <i>USS Constitution</i> and <i>Le Superbe</i>! And their polycount looks quite reasonable, I must say... Now all we (which, in this case, apparently means "I" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ) need to do is to retexture them and convert them so they migh be exported, huh? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
I'm not stopping you. Would be most appreciated. Though I personally have MUCH more interest in a Wicked Wench with retextured windows and ESPECIALLY the HMS Interceptor. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
Still no new about that hms surprise model, my messages didn't find answers yet ...
I didn't suspect already made models were so much work to adapt, i tought that were faster because it was skipping the modeling part gmrbl if only i had time and knowledges for it, i would spend all my time to it grmbl grmbl grmbl raaah!

The problem with existing models is that they might be overdetailed or underdetailed for use in the game, are textured in a different way than the ingame ships, they would need to have their rigging remade to work in the game, all the required locators and walk files would need to be made. It's quite a lot of work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

The fact is i'm desperately looking for a detailled frigate model, looking the standard british 17th century frigate (for example hms surprise ^^) , that would be available ingame

I'll put it this way.

In group dynamics, we see organizers directing task management, creative thinkers brainstorming ideas, and technicians getting working results.
Often multiple roles are seen in the same individuals.

Often we also see individuals who seem not to exhibit any of those roles, yet they are an important part of the group.
They are facilitators in they way they add to group cohesion break the monotony, and reduce group tension.
They contribute to the atmosphere and group identity.
 
Couldn't have said it any better. I like that everybody is welcome here, even if they're not brilliant programmers, skinners, modelers or historians.
