No need to rush anything. It doesn't need to be perfect,
just on a stage where you're happy to have it included in Beta 1. :doff

What did you have in mind? A Build 14 Beta 1 Full installer isn't enough?

ENJOY!

I am pretty much done with the Tutorials and History, just waiting for a little something on WBT :wp

All I have to do is add that and double check the page numbers.

I'm not going to write a WBT tutorial to be included in Build's modding documentation; as far as I'm concerned it is a combined COAS and Build concept with very specialised project planning and execution. These things I will not outsource, not at the present level of interest, so long as I'm here. So don't wait for me, I'll finish what I have under my own power and with my own timeline.

Besides, have you seen the number of requests directed at my person recently? Or the emergency retexturing required for quality control on our 5 new Constitution variants?

You have a seperate PDF on the WBT project and I think it's good if that stays seperate,
since it doubles as ship recognition guide and such.

I think we need to make some mention of "Realistic Mode On by Default" in the documentation, though,
and mention what is different in Realistic vs. Arcade mode. See here for my writup.
Of course now Realistic Game Mode also has WBT, which applies realistic speed, turnrate and inertia values to all ships.
This improves realism (need for counter-rudder) and also game balancing,
since all ships have been tweaked to each other so it all makes sense.

 Ok... I'll put the finishing touches on and add something myself.

Thanks for the link Pieter! I'll try and have it uploaded tomorrow.

I've completed the finishing touches on the Constitution variants and should be able to get the documentation out over the weekend in time for Beta release. Hopefully we would have a certain famous and very powerful Spanish ship joining the fleet by then.

That sounds great. Indeed I'm intending to compile the Build 14 Beta 1 files over the weekend,
then get the installer made and uploaded on Mondy or Tuesday.
Though it wouldn't surprise me if it will again be finished only on Thursday morning,
right before I have to rush off to San Diego. But I hope not. :facepalm

So me being in the future and you in the low GMT timezones you will be getting my updated texture packages. Contact me on msn if you need some directions; in the meantime I'll finish up WBT documentation and do a nice little manifest so you can run integration tests without issue. I'd like you to test the textures that were recently compressed so that no undesirable quality loss is evident on your end as well. Otherwise I can redo certain textures with reduced compression or simply restore the original uncompressed variants.

I'm also doing final modifications to your modified WBT shipsinit file, to fix waterlines for some of the 3rd rate battleships which were in "sinking trim". I don't use those ships, but some others do LOL.

Ok, here is my updated version of the Tutorials and History manual. Feel free to rename it however you want Pieter. Let me know if you want me to change anything else. :dance

Certainly, will do. I had a quick look at the compressed texture files themselves and with the GM Viewer.
I think they should be fine as far as quality is concerned.

Thagarr, when might you be able to post your updated "New Horizons Tutorials & History" file?

The one I posted above is the updated version Pieter, or did I post the wrong file? Should be 287 pages with the couple of new readme's added and the fixed graphics. Is there something else you wanted me to add that I missed mate? I'd be glad to adjust anything for you that you think needs fixing.
