Sherlock Holmes

looks like that one will work just fine. i think i'll download the demo tomorrow.

I just bought "Awakened" today on my way home from work. I went to a few stores and finally found it. Is this the first one you recommend playing, Lazarus?

Yes, The Awakened (Sherlock Holmes meets Cthulhu). Very gory in some spots, very creepy in others.

Most of all very good throughout. It will keep you busy for awhile.

It took a concerted effort on my part not to look for a walkthrough and cheat. If you follow the clues and solve the puzzles (all which are based on logic and reasoninig) you will advance the game.

You don't really need one, but I reccommend you use a notepad even though Holmes and Watson keep most of the notes for you, it will help greatly.

Oh by the way, just so you know...you'll get to spend some time in an (insane) asylum and will have to relate closely with the patients...it is all very interesting. Let me know when you get there, I was stuck there for awhile.

has any of you ever tried the Broken Sword series? i think the first of them all was by far the best, though the demo of it doesn't give a good picture of the game. it's mainly about the Templars and such. in America it appeared as 'Circle of Blood' (a title which doesn't really make any sense) and in europe under 'Shadow of the Templars'. i think the game is roughly the same as the sherlock homes series, though it may not be so well worked out.

I never tried that one, Morgan, though the American title does sound familiar.

it's point and click. it's pretty old too, so don't expect anything of the graphics. broken sword 3 and 4 are in 3D, 4 being pretty recent. broken sword 2 is mainly about the mayans, and has pretty good graphics for it's type. it's a lot like broken sword 1, with better graphics, but the storyline isn't as good as with the first one. the main problem that somtimes appears in this series is that some actions aren't quite that logcial and are purely discovered by luck.

The thread sank out of sight since nobody has posted in it since February 10th. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" />
