The good and best spyglass are giving a morale boost indeed. You think that shouldn't be the case?



Can't find any reference of this but there seems to be an guy called Gregor Samsa who can give it and its hidden at at least 2 places and you can get it by a treasure quest to.

In the olden days only the best glass gave morale.
 
A couple of things. I note that the superior spyglass is still giving the morale.
I checked that last time you mentioned it. The code agrees that both the best two spyglasses show morale:

The best spyglass additionally tells you what type of shot the enemy cannons are loaded with.
If you think it would be better, we can swap that around. Easily done.

Is it possible to get by the guy who is guarding the fountain on isle de muerta?
You mean getting past Blackbeard? You can kill him by poisoning him first.
But there is no point in getting past him, because there is nothing there. Never got round to adding a fountain.
The reason for him being there is so that you can loot his blade from him.

Are you planning on leaving the Hibernian blade in?
Is it still being too common? We can remove it if it is.

And finally can you point at some place that will tell me how to recover my signature?
I'm afraid I don't know. It wasn't hosted on any site I am familiar with....
 
Let's see if I remember everything:
- Cannon upgrades now require you to have at least 1 cannon and price is depended on max cannons for a ship instead of the cannons you have (to prevent exploid).
- You can now only equip the telescope if you have the long rifle
- Fix for when you die in shotgun mode and get resurected (you stayed in shotgun mode else and was unable to get out)
- Fix (I think) for the blinking ship icon when a corpse was on the locator, and improved performace on that
- Added book about smuggling
- When taking a smuggling quest the smuggler agent will ask you to gather some info first (you dont have to) and then talk to him again to confirm it. This is prework for more ways to get the info. Things are already in questbook text so it wouldn't require a new savegame everytime but this time it needs to, sorry :p.

Between this morning and this afternoon many new stuff are coming or will come. Are you sure you'll have enough time to test everything today for the new installer ?:unsure
 
I'll try to put everything in there today. Then we'll have to do a bit more testing on this near-final version, because indeed it isn't enough time again otherwise. :facepalm
 
In my opinion, we should test the last version (you'll release today) these next days and stop adding new things at least 2 or 3 days before next Saturday. And Saturday could be the right day to release the 3.3 (or 3.4 :D)
 
Indeed my intention is now to make a "final" installer for internal testing today.
Then the next few days, we can do testing and I can experiment a bit with improving the installation process.
Can't afford to rush the release this time!
 
Mostly focussing on fixes already now :). Will try to fix some more stuff today. But also need some feedback.
- is the escort mission pay of better now?
- do we really want fetchquest in the questbook?
- are the improvements to the tradebook clear?
- is the pay out for the fetchquest good?
- are the amounts for the fetchquest good?

For today I will try to focus on:
- doing fetchquest in more then 1 run.
- skipping goods at the smuggler
- free aim mode related things with the new rifles
 
@Pieter Boelen at what time (dutch) do you want to compile the new installer (just so I know before when I should upload some more fixes)?
 
As soon as I can manage. Still waging war on the Long Rifles, because they are behaving a bit oddly when they aren't loaded.
The whole hip-swapping things makes things not so simple. :facepalm

Also waiting for @Bartolomeu o Portugues to finish his quest.
Perhaps I'll compile tomorrow just to remove the pressure from you guys (and myself)?
 
@Pieter Boelen see what you can do. If you dont succeed I could take a look at the short rifles also but got some other things left so if you can do it that would be nice.
See what is manageable for the installer.
I will be gone for now till I think 12 or so, and I haven't got everything done.
Maybe you could upload another zip somewhere tonight. Then I will try to fix the last things this night and tomorrow (got a free day tomorrow) and we can then compile the installer.

Oh and here is a new file with fixes again.
You can now skip goods when trading with the merchants. Even if you dont accept the deal you will now know the price of the good and it will be changed in your tradebook :).

Opening post updated with the latest version (excluding some resources that no longer fit).
@Levis, please be sure to check this because I changed some stuff of yours as well.

@Jack Rackham: The process of placing a Long Rifle from your back onto your hip causes it to reload instantly.
Not quite sure how to handle that properly. :facepalm

@Bartolomeu o Portugues: I think as soon as I've got your files, I'll see about making a proper installer anyway.
The ZIP has gotten too large and we need to get all back on the same page here... :wp

I think it's difficult becasue the player can be in the middle of the reload process. How can we check that!
Start the process all over again maybe?

Don't bother; it's fixed already thanks to @Levis.

See the topic about it and how we fixed it for the unequiping of the telescope. Should be the same kind of fix.
