Small Frigate

Hey mate's i'm back from my long long vacation.

sorry, but i have been very busy and there was no real time for going on modding. i just wanted to stop your diskussion about loosing this model. It's still on my machine and i think 5-times saved evereywhere =)

ok, my problem was the 'real' getting it ingame. i've no glue how to do that. there is no real tutorial and neither programs to use which are freeware. So, thats the point, where i do need a 'helping hand'
if anyone of you got an idea how to get sihps ingame and write walkfiles, etc. please, please contact me, then the might be a chance to see this ship on your machines!

ok, like bon jovi said,

Have a nice day <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

wich program are you modelling, theres been some recent disturbing discoveries that the conversion tool dosent seem to work properly with converting ship models. Inzane introduced his HMS surprise with a Maya plugin.
shure the model is playable and all but there is lighting anomalies, were not shure yet how to solve the problem.

i dont know how to get the ship ingame but i'm glad your back and now i got the feeling a ship is finally going to be finishd

hoeray

Ok guys you can count on this ship being ingame.I just got ´Chocolate` Bill's Surprise.Gotta prep her for conversion into the game.He really did A nice job on her.I will post my progress in this thread. She will go in alot quicker than my model.I am very excited about doing this one.

Excellent, Inzane,

Looking forward to it.

Cheers, matey <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Welcome back Inzane, that is great news and means both yourself and ´Chocolate` Bill are still around and kickin. You did a fine job on your ship as well. Are you still modding for POTC or planning any other projects for ships yourself?

This is great, Inzane and ´Chocolate` Bill! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Request to Inzane: There are a lot of people who made ships, but can't get them ingame properly. Is there any chance of you giving them a hand? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Pieter Boelen thats a good question. And thats been my main focus putting together a FAQ of sorts to help you guys do it to.As I Import Chocolate` Bills ship into the game I will document the processe And Long John Silver that answers your question to <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />2 birds 1 stone.

HURRAY FOR Inzane AND Chocolate` Bill! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

Nice idea!

so, i can start modeling the next ship <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

This is GREAT! New ships coming up again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />

Yes Inzane that is a great idea....I almost did that in a text file for putting new ships in game that are made by you guys....I always keep notes for myself so I thought this would make a good tutorial...there is no more noble idea...but the trick is to finish it...hehehehe

It should be pretty cut and dry doing the faq.Its also some of the tools needed to get it right.Like I found UV texturing a big pain in the butt in Maya and 3D MAX.And having the ship textured right can make or break a model. So I tryed diffrent 3rd party UV textureing apps and many where very costly. And the one that was the best was was the least expensive only $60.00 US.Go figure you can dl a demo of it here <a href="http://www.uvmapper.com/" target="_blank">http://www.uvmapper.com/</a> and it exports to formats that work in Maya.you will see what I mean when you play with the demo. And when you uvmap the ship you want to have 1 map just for the outer hull and 1 for the deck and detail stuff.other than that you need maya 4.5 and the plugin.I think at this point everyone knows that.adding the locators were the big problem because no one knew the right names.thats what took me the most time to figure out.and how to attach them to the model to make them work.I will tell ya one thing the cannons had me stumped for a very long time. They where shooting off every where except where I wanted them to.Ended up sinking my own ship a few times.I can laugh about it now, but back than it really had me really really P.Oed. :p.

yeah, i do believe that, or, i can sing a song about that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
i'ts very hard to get any glue about that. but, tell me, don't you get some bugs with the scaling? i just got the ship ingame a few times, but the one time it was bigger than a whole island and the other time it was as small as a shoe ( this was very funny, 'cause no enemy was able to get me sunken! ).

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Do you know guys, I really envy you both....you have done something a lot of us dream of doing....instead of thinking about it, you went out and did it! And for that alone, I am really glad you did, cause that is something no one can "EVER" take away from you are your models. 50 years from now you can boot up your old PC and show your grand kids the models you built from scratch for POTC.......I love modelling but only build Tanks or Armour Models.......but I always wanted to build them for computers as well......I know computers better than most, but can't model for them worth Shit!.....Oh well....

Well done and Thank You Both!, for the great jobs you did for the whole community...you guys I think were the very 1st ones to build an entire ship from scratch and place it in the build......

Hehehehe.....I am sure I read that somewhere.....gonna feel some stupid if I am wrong....BUT!!! doesn't depreciate the sentiments behind what I said though.....

I love Frigates......3 guesses whose I use the Most!!!......and the first 2 don't count

Brainy

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Inzane! it good to see you back! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You said that you would help me to teach how to put my bermuda sloops in the game over a month ago and then you go without a trace?

A faq or tutorial sound like a great winner for everyone. If you give man a fish he does not go hungry for a day or two. If you teach man to fish he is never hungry again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

I have had much trouble trying to put ships in game as well as I have been trying for 2 months now to learn correct order and names of things. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
Thank you for link to uvmapper, all same i find mapping textures with maya very easy although time consume much time.

I have maya 4.5 and plugin.

When will great tutorial be finish? Do not what to sound pushy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Thanks again for any and all future help! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
